3rd Tri baybay!!

Started my 3rd trimester today!!!! 25 weeks!!! I start mine now bc i am diabetic and my dr says we aim for 36 weeks and every day after that is a bonus!! So excited i am in the home stretch (literally! Hows my belly going to get any bigger! Haha!!)

Umm...trimesters don't change based on when you plan on delivering.

You just get a shorter third trimester, not an earlier third trimester.

I understand what you all are saying but my endocrinologist said that my 3rd starts at 25 weeks. So i will just go with what my dr says... Whether my 2nd tri technically is 2 weeks longer.

I wouldn't go with what your endocrinologists says, they are not a specialist in pregnancy. If your OB said that then sweet!

The thing with doctors is the more specialised they are, the less they know about other fields. EG OB wont know much about the endocrine system, and endo doesn't know much about obstetrics.

My endo is diabetic herself, had 2 kids... Whom my High risk OB delivered and they also work hand and hand together with diabetic patients... So...i think she knows what shes talking about... And besides its 2 more weeks... You guys act like its a crime that she said my 3rd tri started... Yeesh.. Buncha negativity here!

It really has nothing to do with us being negative. We are just pointing out a medical inaccuracy. Trimesters are based on gestational age, and gestational age doesn't change just because you deliver early. If you want to throw some confetti because you're {probably? maybe?} 2/3rds of the way through with your pregnancy, then, um, okay? Party on.

Agreed. It's close enough to your third anyways. Who cares about semantics! If you want to say your in your third you aren't hurting my feelings go for it!

um no. I have never carried a baby past 36 weeks and I am not in my third tri. Nor am I jealous. In fact I am more jealous of those ladies that can carry to their due date knowing that a 36 weeker is NOT full term and could very easily have major issues.

3rd tri has to do with the baby's timeline in development not when it's "due". It's science you can't fuck with science!
