does your family tree predict sex?

DH and I don't care what we have, boy or girl, but of course we like to try to predict. ;) We'll have an anatomy ultrasound when the time comes, but for now, I'd love to know your thoughts!

I've always heard that the family history on the father's side has some sway in determining a baby's sex... DH is the oldest of FIVE boys, and HIS dad's sister was the first girl on that side of the family in nine generations. DH's mom is the only girl out of four kids. So, there are a LOT of boys on the Kight side. 

On my side, the Linde side, I am one of two girls and I have three brothers. My dad has one sister and six brothers, and my mom had one sister, no brothers. 

We're guessing we'll have a few boys, especially if we have a big family like we're hoping. What do you all think??

    I have no idea, but if family history had something to do with sex selection it would only be your H's family history since sex is determined by the sperm. My H has mainly all boys on his side (siblings and first cousins) and we had a girl and a lot if his male cousins have had only girls, so it was not an indicator for us.

    I don't put much stock in family history.
    In-Laws first was a boy (supposedly for quite a few generations all first kids had been boys, my parents' first was a boy. Our first a girl...

    Yeah, I guess there's no way to know! A boy would be super fun, but I'm almost hoping for a girl  first because she would be so spoiled by her 7 uncles!

    There is no way thats true at least for us. We have two boys. My husbands side only has girls, my husband was the first boy in a few generations, lots on only children btw. My side is mixed, my cousins, they had two boys and one had two girls. We are hoping for a girl but another boy would be fun too.

    My husbands dad has 6brothers no sisters his first 2 children were girls... In fact they ended with an even-ish number of both sexes 6-girls, 5-boys... As far as our 25nieces and nephews go on that side it was an even number but I think we now have 1 more nephew than niece... In other words... No playing the family tree to predict sex for us. :)

    Husband has 2 brothers and one sister, his father has 3 brothers and two sisters.... I am hoping for one of each!

    I think it's crap tbh b/c on DH's side, he has 14 cousins I believe, and 2 are girls. And his mom has 2 sisters and 2 brothers. But now there are 4 great-grandchildren, and 3 are girls, and 1 boy! We totally thought we'd have a boy, but we had a girl. And the twins were b/g. I really think it's just 50/50 in the end.

    Well my Dh was 3 generations of only boys. If this baby is a girl it wil be a big deal lol. I have 4 dd's from a previous marriage. My ex husband went on to have a 5th daughter w his new wife. So it's the mom of 4 girls vs the family of only boys. Time will tell;)

    uhm...well...i would think boy, my FIL had my DH first, then he had a daughter, with his second wife he had two sons, but in between the two, they had a girl that unfortunately they lost, so Boy girl there. With FILs siblings, they all have a boy and a girl...wait *light bulb moment* So...grandfather in law had three kids, boy, girl and boy(FIL), my FIL had boy(DH), girl, boy, girl(loss) and boy, FIL's brother, the oldest had girl then boy, FIL's sister had boy then girl. The cousins so far have had girls, and one about to have a boy in February...so...the only pattern i see is, there are no boy, boy or girl, girl combinations, it all has been boy, girl, or girl, boy.

    DH's cousins ALL have girls- 8 total! His sisters don't have kids, but since he was the third and last child and is the only boy, my money is on a girl.

    My DH is an only child and FIL is 1 of 6 kids (3 boys and 3 girls). No help there for my predicting!

    Dh has two brother and a sister. His dad had two brothers and a sister. His mom has only her brother. So it's pretty evenly split. We already have a DD and I can see this one going either way.
