How do you dry your cloth diapers?

I'm trying to get an idea of what most people do to dry their CDs. I've got several pocket Kawaii diapers (minky) and want to see what others are doing to dry their diapers.

  • Hang dry and then throw them in the dryer for 10-20 minutes to get the crunchyness out!

  • I hang dry my pocket shells, wetbags and fleece liners. Everything else goes in the dryer, including AIOs. I just don't have enough space to hang dry everything, and it would take forever, especially this time of year when it's really humid and chilly.

I don't have any minky Kawaiis. We put a clothesline in our laundry room and I just hang them all up and they're dry by the next morning (I usually do laundry at night). They always seem pretty soft to me.

ETA: Inserts and prefolds go in the dryer.
  • Pockets, covers, and wet bags get hung up.

Wipes, inserts and prefolds get thrown in the dryer.

  • My baby boy doesn't arrive until the Spring, but we plan on line drying while the weather is still good through the summer/fall and then we'll use the dryer over the winter. We get pretty good sunshine through the basement windows for some of the day so I'm still hoping to sun out stains over the winter if needed.

This is what we do too.
  • I hang dry my covers, pockets, and AIOs. I throw inserts and wipes into the dryer. I use only natural fibers, I hated dryer drying my microfiber way back when.

I'm also not opposed to throwing a cover/pocket in the dryer on low for 15-20 minutes if I don't want to wait for it to dry. That's all the time it takes to dry them, I wouldn't leave them in for longer than that.

Us, too! Or I mean "me" since DH still has to refer to the specific explanations I wrote if he ever attempts CD laundry. Which is never.
Ok, yeah, this is actually me too :)  If DH ever does laundry, I have everything in the washer and all the settings ready to go.  Sometimes he even moves them to the dryer and pushes that button too.  One time I asked him to gather all the dark clothes and wash them while I was at work, and he only washed black things because he wasn't sure what all "dark" included, even though they were separated in the bathroom.  I haven't attempted asking him to help with diaper laundry yet. ;)

  • Hang dry pockets & covers on a rack over a heating vent (I cheat!), everything else like inserts, wetbag/pail liner, etc gets dried on low and then hung to dry if it's not quite dry.
Will likely hang dry everything outside once we're back into warmer weather.

I'm also not opposed to drying the covers in the dryer, but would prefer to limit how often I do that, since I think line drying is probably better for them.

Random: I have the diaper washing instructions printed out and taped up above the washer & dryer in case my husband or anyone else ever wants to wash them.
  • My covers, pockets, and wetbags all get hung to dry (though some pockets have snuck into the dryer from time to time).

Inserts, prefolds, and wipes all go in the dryer.

I have a couple of the kawaii bamboo minky diapers, and they do take a while to dry on the line in my condo (longer than 12 hours but not as long as 24), so I think I've thrown them in on low if I'm in a hurry for some reason.

Ditto as well. Does that mean combo then?

  • We of cotton AIOs so they do TAKE FOREVER to dry. So I just throw them in the dryer. If they wear out a little sooner so be it. It saves time and sanity now. Which is worth A LOT!

  • I hang dry most everything, but if my natural fibers feel a little crunchy I throw them in the dryer for a few minutes when they're almost dry. If I'm feeling lazy, they go directly into the dryer on low heat.
  • I voted combo. I hang dry covers & pocket shells. Everything else goes in the dryer.

  • I voted combo since if it's warm enough for me to be outside with bare, wet hands (above 50ish) the whole lot gets hung on the clothesline.  If it's too cold, all except the covers goes into the dryer.

  • I dry everything one time, pull out anything with elastic and PUL and hang them up. Everything left in the dryer gets dried two more times.

ditto, and I voted combo as well.  except I only have prefolds and covers
  • I hang dry everything. This time of year it takes a bit longer for everything to dry. I used it as an excuse to buy more diapers.

  • I hang dry the covers and anything with elastic. I throw inserts in the dryer.

With my first stash I threw everything in the dryer, but the elastic was blown out of all those pockets before DS2 was potty trained, so I had to switch to disposables until I could buy new dipes for #3.

  • Minus wool, which obviously is different, I usually hang dry. However, since winter hit, I'm not all that patient about hanging them inside, so lately I've been tossing them in the dryer.
