Hi All! I teach first grade in NJ! This is my 4th year teaching. I am due June 21st and the last day of school is June 20th, so fingers crossed that I make it! I'm not sure yet how long I will take off. I'm a little nervous about letting someone start off my year in September. I like to establish rules and routines early! So I am still thinking about when I will go back!!
Hi! I teach in NJ. I am a 4th/5th grade Resource room teacher. This is my 10th year of teaching..crazy! Since I am due in June..thinking of just taking off until October and then heading back.
Hellllo! I teach high school Spanish in upstate NY. It will be 8 years for me this February! I am due 6/7 and am planning to return to work in September (thanks to stupid student loans [-(). I feel so fortunate to have the whole summer with my baby! A teacher friend of mine had her boy the end of October and was expected to return to work mid-December...6weeks is nottttt long enough!!
Currently teaching 1st grade in Albuquerque NM. (Before marrying I taught 4th in FL for 5 years). I've decided to be a stay at home mommy! So I will finish out the year and that's it. We move August '16 (hubby is Navy). So I will love being in sweatpants...most days
I'm a middle and high school English/Journalism teacher in Minnesota. I currently teach 8th grade writing, media literacy, and broadcast journalism. This is my 3rd year teaching and my first baby. I'm due June 22 and plan to go back in August (no time off other than summer vacay)!
I am a third grade teacher in Ohio. This is my sixth year teaching. I'm due June 19 and school will be out by then and we don't start back until mid August so the plan is to go back on schedule.
I'll be honest that having a work/life balance is my greatest stressor. Elementary teaching is so rewarding but also SUCH a time commitment. I take work home every night and spend most of my Sundays grading and planning for the week. I know that baby/family will be #1 but I also don't want to let my teaching suffer.
4 years in this job, however I also have worked as a speech language therapist in some elementary schools before that for a few years
This is hopefully it for me and teaching (for the moment) Our plan is for me to stay home with DD and new little one until they get into school. I am SO excited! (and just a little sad to be leaving my kids/school/coworkers!)
Kentucky, 10 years as a high school teacher. We start early August and the baby is due June 22. I plan on taking six weeks the start of the year. It isn't the best for establishing rules and responsibility, but I don't want to send a 6 week old to daycare either.
