I am so sorry. Huge hugs!!! My husband and I also already planned for this to be our last baby. But while I was in the recovery room after my c-section, I had three seprate people tell me not to get pregnant again, as it would be very bad and extremely risky for me. So I know how it hurts (even though it was planned to be the last baby) to have no option to change your mind.

I couldn't bring myself to do anything but cry all afternoon, but I knew how supportive you ladies would be and wanted to get back on here and thank you all for the T's & P's.
I think the Dr told me about waiting for the surgery to give me time to cope with losing my uterus, I am sure if I asked to get it done sooner than later he would be fine with that. I do however need time to cope with it before moving ahead with the surgery. I also plan on looking into second and even third opinions to make sure this is the best decision based on my unique situation.
I held my babies even closer today knowing that they will probably be my only ones. I know there are plenty of women out there that struggle to (or aren't even able to) have one baby and here I am blessed with two beautiful and healthy children, for that I am immensely grateful.

This kid may not have a lot of bowel, but he has plenty of guts! DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome. 131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.
I'm so sorry you are going through this. I know you mentioned you are going to get a second appt and I think that's a great idea. I worked in an urology office for 2.5 yrs and we saw a lot of bladder and uterine prolapses. Obviously, I have no idea how bad yours is, but we very rarely recommended such an extreme "fix". I would definitely try some less severe surgery or options first. Good luck with everything!
