Another prego in the family?

So my family had a month of bad news. We found out the day after thanksgiving that my dad had a blood clot in his leg as well as bands of blood clots in his lungs that almost killed him. He is on a long road to recovery at this point. Then on the 1st we found out that youngest brother is having some serious issues with his liver. Then two days ago we found out that my other brother has internal bleeding. The doctors are still trying to find out what is causing it. Then yesterday my little sister (18 and single) went to the hospital due to cramping and the doctors told us she is pregnant- but she has an ectopic pregnancy. Then they said well maybe it's actually a normal pregnancy but she has a cyst on her ovaries. After running tests all day they think it's the regular pregnancy. But we find out for sure tomorrow. Praying that the baby is okay and that there are no more surprises this month! We've taken all of the bad news that we can handle... (not that my sister being pregnant is bad just a surprise to us all). So if you are the praying type, join me?

I've been praying for all the babies, born and not born yet, every time I remember to pray. I hope your sister is ok, and that your family has a big pile of good news in the near future.

You have a whole lot going on. Hopefully things will start to improve all around with the men in your family. I hope your sister is a-ok and the doctors know conclusively where the pregnancy is located. Lots and lots of (((Hugs)))

That is a lot for one family to deal with all at once. Hoping you all make it through the best you can.

I have to say, I'm a little relieved this wasn't a thread about being upset someone was "stealing your thunder".

OMG, that's a lot to handle

Sounds like when I was pregnant with DS, we had a series of really truly awful things happen (ie: my brother nearly died in a car accident, spent 60+ days in the hospital, my other brother and his wife had a miscarriage and a week later he was diagnosed with MS and had 3 serious episodes in which he needed to be hospitalized, Grandma got breast cancer, etc etc etc...) Chin up, praying that everything turns around and that you all have some awesome karma coming your way! On the bright side, if your sis is having a normal pregnancy your kids will be able to grow up together and be close in age

As for your sister's pregnancy, I was told around 4 weeks that this LO was an ectopic pregnancy and that I would most likely need to have surgery to "try to save my tube". Granted, I was in the ER for spotting and cramping and wasn't seen by an OB until after the ultrasound had been performed. I went that day to get a second opinion at one of the best hospitals in the city, and sure enough, they found the beginnings of a yolk sac right where it should be in my uterus and a good size corpus luteum cyst on my right ovary. If your sister has the option, I would encourage her to seek a second opinion!
