I know this has probably been posted before, but could you recommend yours? Also, any good deals on one? E's height has about maxed out her chicco keyfit. She's a little over 28 inches so we don't have long.
Ty is in the Diono Radian and I love it so far. I'm going to wait a month or so, until he gets really good at sitting on his own before I install the foam pad and after that we will be golden.
We have the Evenflo, Triumph I think. We dig it. The fabric is really versatile and like a microsuede and the tighten and release is pretty easy once you get the hang of how it works. Also easy installation.
We had a Britax with a rental car though and that was a pretty awesome carseat too so I would recommend that brand too!
I went with the Diono Radian RXT. I'm kind of kicking myself for not doing a bit more research though, because it looks like the R120 is just as good, and quite a bit cheaper (the main difference seems to be the RXT has head wings, which can apparently be good for supporting heads when napping in the car, so maybe it's good?).
Anyway - it has high weight and height limits for RF which is what's most important to me! I've also read that because it's less "bucket" like it's a bit easier to get LO in and out of it. That being said, I'm installing mine tonight - so I'll know more later.
Sadly, I've never really seen it on sale. I wound up signing up for some site called Wayfair as they had a 10% off with signup, and that was the best deal I could find. I don't know if they're still doing the 10% off thing, but you can still find the carseat there for the same price as Amazon.
We bought one for my husband's car and I am using the infant seat in my car until we get another one. We decided to test it out in his car before we bought two. We got Peg Perego convertible seat and we love it so far. It was easy to install, doesn't take up too much leg room and it's easy to get him in and out. also, the buckle is easier to use than my current chicco keyfit30 infant seat.
@zigsperspective there is the graco my ride in Canada. I think it's the exact same seat just a different name. FWIW car seats for the littles recommended Evenflo sureride for me (in Canada only available at BRU), I think that's what I'm getting.
I haven't purchased the next carseat yet, but I highly recommend joining the Carseats for the Littles group on FB. I've been reading their posts and feel so much more confident in making that purchase.
This! I feel like such a dope because I bought Bradley's seat based on the way it looks. I lucked out and it is recommended by them, but I wish I would have done more research (btw don't get the Safety 1st carseat, the straps get crazy twisted so it takes 15 minutes to fix to get a proper fit)
@wasnotwas I got the same foam insert for the Radian, but mine says I have to wait until he's a year old, which I'm bummed about. Yours doesn't?
Diono's website says it's for "older children" and "with child who has complete head control and can sit up unassisted". Though amazon does say 1 year on the product website.
I took it to mean if your LO can hold himself upright in a sitting position, you're good to go with the angle adjuster. I don't know though. I guess I'll try installing it without and see how cramped it makes the passenger seat of my car!

Originally the recommendation was 1 year, but it has since been modified to complete head control and sit up unassisted. You gain 4 inches with the wedge, so I'm trying to wait until he is 100% sitting up unassisted for at least a month before I do it, but I don't think waiting a year is necessary.

Ok, cool! I'll hold out a couple more months, maybe, but that thing is so necessary in our car. The passenger seat is jammed up to a foot away from the dash.
I had to delete the Carseat for Littles page from my FB b/c they post too much and my page was constantly blowing up. I feel okay with going with what Nissan has tested to be best for my car with the best fit so I am okay with it now.
