I made a registry before I new I was PG. "> I will not have a second shower so I will not be sharing it but it helps to organize all the things I will need for 2.0.
I have started mine already, and my MIL is having a family shower for me next month. I know that is way early, and I would feel more comfortable having it when I was further along, but next month is the only time DH's grandma will be in town and able to go, so that's why it is so soon.
FTM and I have a registry. I told myself it was just to keep certain things straight and help make deductions but it spiraled out of control. I haven't touched it in a couple weeks.
Yes, our registry is mostly done. No, I have no input in my shower. I was asked for addresses for friends and my husband's close female family members. That's it. I did jokingly ask if I could have the dragonfly cake I wanted for my 16th birthday 10 years ago, finally. My grandmother and aunt smirked and told me that I'd see on the day of my shower.
My sister is planning my shower for April and I'm dreading registering - I feel like its going to be such an overwhelming experience and I know DH and I will have some epic fight. I think we're going to go look at items, etc. next month - game plan: make sure pregnant lady has been fed and DH is more patient through a beer or two prior to going out!
M14 January Siggy Challenge: Resolution I have no intention of keeping...SHOPPING LESS!
I am not having a second shower. But have made a registry to keep track of what I want/need for this baby and to take advantage of the BRUINS registry deal
I started a registry to keep track of what I need when I think about something. It's not much since DD is 1yo. I'm only doing it for the completion coupon though, won't be sharing the registry with anyone. With DD I didn't start it until 24w, then I ordered everything on it at 35w.

My sister is in town and wants to be the one do to my shower. We agreed sometime in April and she asked for a list of who I want invited. That seemed complicated enough to me. Trying to have a bridal shower got so complicated that I never had one.
We made our registry back in November only because Babies R Us had a really good registry deal that expired on Nov. 15 (although they have now extended it through January 31 I believe).
My mom also lives out of state and wanted to have my shower booked before the holidays and bad weather. It's also at a place that is pretty popular for graduations, confirmations, weddings, etc. so in the spring it's hard to get - another reason she wanted it booked asap.
Started the registry slowly mostly the big stuff. My sister is in town for xmas and being as I am a FTM she wants to go target with me while she is back and help me some with the registry. My friend stated planning my shower for March 8 so I have time to buy things we dont get after. I figured 32 weeks wasnt to early is it?
I had input on the date and location and guest list as she had no idea! I feel tempted to help with more bc I feel bad she had to plan it all bc my mom just wants to give the money and not plan lol.
I'm a FTM and I finished my registry a few days ago. I know it's soon but I'm able to look at it and make changes if need be. My shower will be in march so I have plenty of time to make my registry prefect for me.
I started my registry pretty early more to keep decisions on certain products straight (I would research and decide on a stroller, highchair, etc., so it was just easy to register for it than keep a list written somewhere. I'm kind of frustrated with the BRU online thing now because things keep going out of stock, and getting 'kicked' of my registry, like not just out of stock for now, but the item number is removed from the system so I have to go re-add the new item number item. Really annoying.
I also have a second registry at at cloth diaper website that is Canadian. I've done tons of research on CDing and I wanted to find an online store that was Canadian (so no duty costs), cheap shipping and had lots of selection of brands. I registered because the store gives you a 15% discount on things that you buy for yourself from your registry, so that is a nice extra savings. If people want to buy me CD stuff for shower gifts, that would be WONDERFUL, but I know a lot of older family members would not want to buy stuff online.
The only 'planning' I have been involved with for my shower is I told my mom (who really wanted to plan it) that I wanted it to be at my house because while our families do not live in the same city as us, all of our friends do. And we always have to travel out of town for family things (at least once a month), family can travel to us for once (I can count on one hand the number of times we've had either family come to our house). I also suggested it be in March, because one of my best friends is getting married in May and her shower is in April. She never said anything about the timing, but I thought I would give her a little bit of "buffer" time for her special celebrations. But really, as long as it's not the same day/weekend, neither of us would care.
I started my registry in November which was a little early, but babies r us had a promotion going that was goingto end so I wanted to take advantage if it.
Im almost done with mine. I'm just dreading having someone plan the shower other than myself. My bridal was sept 21st of this year, the person planning it lied for six months about planning the actual shower, I ended up planning it. I found out I was expecting the Tuesday after the shower. Sad to say I expect a repeat for the baby shower.......
Re: Baby registration?
You shouldn't be planning your own shower.
