Hi ladies

Just curious, what is everyone else at now? I'm 25 weeks today and I've gained 17-18 lbs. I feel so much bigger this baby. My belly was not even fully popped yet by this stage with my son lol This one is a girl and I know it's second baby but I don't want to let myself get massive either.

I'm attaching my 24 week pic as well since its the last one I have.

Just FYI. There are threads on this weekly...you probably just should have searched for those...this is a pretty worn out topic and every body is different and gains different. If you are concerned about your weight talk to you doctor...if they haven't said anything to you about it then don't worry about it. Pregnancy and weight gain go hand in hand.

I call BS I truly believe this and 90% of the weight post are hidden agendas of tell me how great I look. That is the only reason she attached a picture.

Holy cow, you're 24 weeks? I just don't understand. I'm 21 weeks, and my bump is so much bigger than yours... This has really been bothering me lately. I'm a FTM, and my other friends who are (1 is one week ahead of me) due around the same time are not half as 'big' as me. I'm not overweight, but my bump is just huge! My friend's husband works out with my husband, and they were talking 'preggers wives' the other day. He mentioned she had only just now developed a small bump at 22 weeks. I'm like, wtf, I haven't been able to zip my pants since I was 13 weeks and showing since 18 weeks. It makes me worry that my dates are off and kid is actually going to come earlier (which is bad for my end of year paperwork), or that I'll end up being horribly enormous in the end....

And yet some women are still sad that they're not really showing, and wish to God that they could actually look pregnant. It's all relative honey. Don't worry about it or let it bother you. Why worry about something you literally have no control over, and is completely natural? Do yourself and your healthy baby a favor and get off the comparison train. It's a long ride to nowheresville.

You are different women with different bodies carrying different babies. You can't benchmark yourself by others. Have you had an ultrasound? If your dates were that far off they almost certainly would've realized.

I'm really not a huge worrywart over this pregnancy, but man, it's becoming difficult not to compare when at least 9 women I know and interact with often are all due within 6 weeks of each other lol And then of course I see the HDBD and I just... you know. I've really always been a very happy person, and I'm extremely lucky that my body image is not a point of contention for me. My biggest concern is really not my size/shape - I think it's neat, but kid's size, and what kind of kink it could potentially mean. IE, drinking during what I considered my two week wait, paperwork for work at the end of the school year that I will still be responsible for... Yadda yadda bitch whine moan

@smushi You don't have to worry. Regardless of what it may seem like, your size has little to do with your baby's size. People thought I looked big for how far along I was but DD was born small for her gestational age.

So, here's my two cents: To the ladies who are upset with OP, I'd say you're ruining many valid points about positive body image by being snarky, catty, and self-righteous. If you really believe that every body is on it's own continuum-- it's own journey-- then it shouldn't be a far stretch for you to believe that every woman's emotional journey is different, too. A hearty congratulations to those of you who DON'T need validation, or aren't looking for it here. But some women DO need it, and aren't getting it elsewhere. And can you blame them? I sure hope you ladies are truly this confident in real life, and when you're not pregnant. Sadly, women spend 99% of their waking lives internalizing messages about how fat they are but suddenly when we are pregnant we should be confident, and should magically stop being paranoid about weight? I wish it were so easy. Cut the OP some slack.
