First sickness

Well, I got a really bad cold with double ear infections and this is the first time I have been sick in over two years! Yay to staying bug free for so long, but boo to this horrible bug that got passed along to poor Chloe. She has never been sick and being the germ freak I am, we have been very luck up until now. I knew it was going to happen at some point, but it is just so hard to watch your baby be sick. Thankfully it's not as bad as mine. I love homeopathic meds and used Coldcalm by Boiron for the first time and love it! I quartered the dosage and gave it to Chloe (recommended for 3+ years) and it significantly helped. They also make Oscillococinum, which people swear by for the flu. Stay well my friends! This years cold is a nasty one!!

    I wouldn't do this with Tylenol or Advil without talking to a health professional before. However, homeopathic medicine is heavily diluted and does not contain any dangerous substances. My doctor doesn't "recommend" them because he thinks they only have a placebo effect, but said that if we wanted to try them, that they would in no way harm our child. We've tried one for ear infection, and it had quite a calming effect on LO, even if she was much too young to be affected by a placebo reaction.

    @hijinx I gave her a quarter of what a 3 year old would take. The good thing about homeopathic meds is they are super safe because of the dilution like @Barefoot84 mentioned. It is almost impossible to overdose. Thanks for the well wishes!
