I'm guessing this is your NT scan? At this stage it's too early to tell the sex. The only way to do that is by proxy of genetic testing. Again, if you are getting genetic testing (bloodwork) you may be able to find out the sex, but that is not the sole purpose.
Just my opinion, but I think way too much importance is placed on sex/gender discovery. I know it's exciting, but my goodness there is more to the pregnancy/life than finding out what junk it has.
Everyone always says they look the same until like 16 weeks or there abouts... I dunno, all three of mine were done at a high risk specialty office, all three times their educated guess was correct. Same for my sister-in-law and any friends that went there. Could be one hell of a lucky sonographer or group, could be that they see something? The tech on e told me it has to do with the angle of the dangle so to speak, but I mean I guess it's tough to argue with science, and science says they are all the same at that point! I wouldn't paint a nursery based on it, and never have, but it's still sort of fun to have them guess and play the game to a degree.

I should add that I, too, was told all 3 times that it was a guess and not go running off to Babies r Us to buy clothes or anything... The tech made no bones about the fact that it was a guess and not a for sure thing.

Yup - at our 12 week appt. the sono tech told us we were having a boy - she showed us a nub and everything.
Went in last week for an emergency u/s and sure enough, baby had HER legs wide open so the tech had no doubts that we are having a little girl. She told us that the other tech should never have told us it was a boy at 12 weeks since they do all look the same.
Turns out the nub we saw wasn't a penis but a swollen clitoris.
Just curious, but what's the deal with this new genetic testing that can reveal the sex early on through bloodwork? My DH was talking to some customers of his about this and I was like, "They can do what now?"

It isn't done to only tell sex. It is done to detect chromosomal abnormalities for 3 or 4 genetic conditions. Sec can be determined through the test but obviously isn't its primary purpose.
(out of lurking to say...)
Yep, this. DH's cousin and her husband had the testing done due to her advanced maternal age, though I'm not exactly sure which test or tests they did. They also found out they're having another girl, which was a bonus.
