I seriously hate my boss. He is so rude and is the type of jerk who is only nice when there's something he needs from you. Very smarmy. You'd think with pregnancy-related issues, he would try to be a bit understanding, especially as his wife is pregnant right now as well and is not having an easy time with it. I landed in the ER last month after a bout with a stomach virus and instead of seeing how I was doing after I returned, he came into my office to yell at me for missing an assignment (because I was in the ER).
This morning, I've just had it up to here with him and I just want to either burst into tears or tell him off for being a whiny little asshole. I'm so sick of this shit.
Anyway, misery loves company (or so they say). Anyone want to hate on their boss with me today?

I'm sorry to hear that. I have been working in a lab the last few years, after spending all of my college life working in a lab. I read up on the chemicals that I was handling when we started trying, and felt comfortable continuing in the lab. However, when I told the president (we're a small company of 30-35 people), he said he'd never had to deal with a pregnant employee in a lab before, was going to loose sleep if I continued working in the lab, and moved me to a desk job where I stare at my computer screen all day, every day, and have to try really hard not to explode from sheer boredom and lack of using my brain or the knowledge I went to school to acquire.
So I sympathize with and understand you completely. I am counting down the days till I go on maternity leave (unpaid, of course) and get some time away from this @#$^$$*&%$ cube. *hugs* to you for putting up with everything.
So sorry to hear about your boss. I had one of those. I was in a car accident a couple years ago (not my fault) and ended up with 5 herniated discs in my lower back and neck. I had to go through physical therapy and about 10 outpatient procedures where I was put under each time, and all he did was give me crap about coming in late or having to take time off for a procedure. I wasn't supposed to drive for 24 hours after each one, but because of his crap, I was back into work the next day for most of them.
When I started thinking about getting pregnant, I started looking for a new job. He was such an ass that I didn't want to deal with the stress of working under him while pregnant, because I was seriously concerned about the effects on the baby.
Well, within my 2 week notice, he ended up quiting his job. I negotiated a promotion to stay, and now I am sitting in his office
Plus I get to keep all of accumulated sick days to use towards my leave.
Hang in there! I firmly believe that people will eventually get what's coming to them.
Thanks @Cecilbear. I put up with him more than I should have (almost 6 years!), and I felt the way you do almost on a daily basis at the end.
Just tough it out a couple more months, and you will get a nice break with your LO. Then, if he is still treating you poorly, I would slowly start looking for another job. No one deserves to be treated like that or have to feel the way you do.
Also, keep in mind you are doing NOTHING WRONG. I'm sure he has a whole lot of issues, and he's most likely taking them out on you (mine needed to put others down so he could feel better about himself).
Keep taking deep breathes, bitch him out in your head, have a moment to pity the sorry human being he is, and get a calendar or something to actively count down the days till you don't have to see him for a while.
I can totally relate tho my boss is female which makes me soooo angry with how she is treating me coz she has 3 kids so she knows what pregancy is like, but still she continues to be a utter twat and not play by the rules, to the point instead of changing my role she tried to tell me she has no job for me and tried to make me the doctors issue. She is awful to the point if he does one more thing I'm going to take her to court for discrimination towards pregnancy!. I can't wait for my maternity to be away from her and the hell hole I work in.
