I will give a little background....I'm pregnant with b/g twins due March 9th. But I had pprom and a water break at 26 weeks. I went through the magnesium, antibiotics, steroid shots, etc. The babies still have fluid and look good. I will be 28 weeks tomorrow. We were told if everything continues the way it has, we will deliver between 32-34 weeks. I know every pregnancy and newborns are different but if you delivered around this time, what did your twins weigh and how long were they in the NICU if at all?
Re: Delivery Between 32-34 Weeks
GL and I hope those babies keep cooking!
Baby a - 5lb 8oz needed 9 days in nicu
Baby b - 4lb 10oz needed 17 days in nicu
Rest up and keep those babies cooking for as long as possible!
Baby a - 3 lbs 6 oz and 5 weeks in the nicu.
Baby b - 4 lbs even and 4 weeks in the nicu.
Breathing and eating were the big hurdles to going home for us.
Good luck! Let me know if you have specific questions.
3/22 ER: 25R, 20M, 15F. 9 genetically normal, and 3 survived to Day 5
3/27 ET: transferred 1 embryo, beta 9dp5dt=163, 12dp5dt=639
4/25 1st ultrasound at 7 weeks = identical twins with heartbeats?!!!
Mine came at 33+1 with only one steroid shot on board. They weighed 3lbs4oz and 4lbs even. My 4lb guy needed a few days of mild oxygen(the day they finally let me hold him he stopped needing it, seriously) They were both in special care for 21 days, most feeders and growers, obviously my 3lber needed a little help with body temp but not for too long!! I honestly attribute being able to hold them all the time as part of what got them home so soon!! My littlest came home at 4lbs .01oz!! They were amazed at how well they did!! So be an advocate and try to be skin to skin as much as possible and hold them together as much as they will allow, mine loved to be face to face-literally!

Baby a was born vaginally, weighed 4 lbs 3 oz, 17 inches long, and spent 26 days in the nicu.
Baby b was born via c section, weighted 4 lbs 5 oz, 17 inches long, and spent 35 days in the nicu.
Mostly spent time as feeders and growers with minimal oxygen assistance. Good luck keeping those babies growing. You're doing a good job mama!
Good luck!! You're doing great so far.

Yep both are home and growing like crazy. They now weigh 5.3 and 5.14
I had the steroid shots 5 days before my water broke. Baby A (girl named Christina) was 3lbs4oz 14 inches and baby B (boy named Stephen) was 3lbs7oz 16 inches. They were in the Special Care Nursery for 4 weeks but only for growing and learning to feed.
They are now 3 months old (1 month adjusted) and are doing amazing! Christina is almost 9lbs and 20 3/4 inches and Stephen is almost 11lbs and 21 3/4 inches!
