1st night in her own room!

I am so anxious right now I dont think I will be sleeping very well tonite! I do have a question though..

I haven't left LO to actually cry before picking her up for naps or for her night feeding, if she even has one. I would just pick her up after like 10 mins of her rustling around when I knew for sure she was awake..Now that she's in her own room do I wait to hear her cry to go in? What do you guys do??

Maybe I just need to let her chill until she's had enough and starts crying.?.?.

  • I go pick him up when I hear him start crying a few times to make sure he's awake. Sometimes he let's out a little whimper cry and goes back to sleep on his own. I would go insane if I got up everytime he makes a sound.

I also don't use a monitor except for when I'm in the living room and he's in his crib. When we're sleeping I hear him since is door is right next to ours. He's been in his own room for 2 weeks now and it's been going well.

because it didn't fucking snow enough for me to build my own
  • We wait for a few cries to give her a chance to practice self soothing, if they start to space out or get faint she is falling back to sleep, otherwise we go in to help sooth her back to sleep. Hope the transition goes well :) Good luck
  • We wait until she actually cries to go get her. A lot of times she has fallen back asleep on her own after being awake for a few minutes.

  • Good luck! I was very nervous the first night LO slept in her nursery (which is next to our bedroom) when she was 8 weeks old, but she did great, and everyone slept better. After the first night, I was confident that I would be able to hear her over the monitor, and could check on her with the video, so I was much more comfortable.

I have a video monitor too and I set it on the lowest volume so I only hear her if she actually cries. I also check to see if her eyes are open and give her a minute to resettle. If not I go in.

  • Savannah will usually entertain her self for a few minutes. I can always tell when she's had enough though. Her movements gets more aggressive. So, I try to make it in there before then. With her, once she starts crying it sometimes takes a while to calm her down. I'm pretty sure she has my temper. She goes from calm and laughing to BSC in an instant. If I can avoid the BSC I do.

  • I wait until it turns into a cry. She'll snuffle around and complain for a bit until she gets comfortable then she'll go back to sleep. But I know if there's a cry that something needs to be seen to quickly before she goes into hysterics. She's been in her own crib for almost 2 months now. I know how nerve wracking it can be though. I'm glad your LO did so well! Fingers crossed for another great night.
