I want to make it clear that my husband is a great man. Before I was pregnant he took care of the dishes and washed his own clothes. This does not happen in my Carribbean culture. Due to complications in my pregnancy I was told by my doctor to not do a lot of things, like even bend down. I just go to work, sit and teach. I'm so frustrated because of this!! My husband seem to not be able to take care of the needed chores, like cleaning the fish tank so the fish won't die, taking care of the garden, so it won't look like death, taking things out of my office so we start the nursery. If I didn't have complications, I wouldn't have to ask him to do anything. Now, I'm sitting here blowing up at him because seeing the floating fish was the end of it.
Re: Frustrated due to limitations. (Venting)
I'm dealing with the same. Unfortunately, my DH works 10 hours days outside in the freezing cold. By the time he gets home, he is exhausted. He was great in the beginning, but now that I am feeling better, he thinks I can go back to my usual routine. He is trying his best to deal, but it is alot of work.
I am trying to figure out ways to assist. Now, I go grocery shopping online and have them delivered to our house (thank you PeaPod). I will also dust one room a day (no vacumming or anything like that). When he does laundry, I'll ask him to bring the clothes up and I will fold them. It's not much, but at least it is taking some of the pressure off.
I'm sure your DH isn't trying to be a pain in the ass... Unfortunately, men don't know how to deal. They get overwhelmed. Do you have anyone near by that can help out? Can you afford to bring someone in to clean... even if it is only once every few weeks?
