mndynitetragdy - The short answer is that "La-a" is an old urban legend. And it's almost always third hand information from someone's cousin's roommate's sister in law who teaches at _______ school (or works at _______ hospital). It's the "Orangejello and Lemonjello" or "Nosmoking" of the new generation.
It's kind of common now, but I know a couple people with girl's named Naveah. I cringe everytime I see it. I have a friend with boys named Hudson and Brooks. While not bad names individually, together it sounds like they should be vacationing in Martha's Vineyard in seersucker suits. Blech.
Haha. My moms bf is Richard Johnson. I snickered when I first heard that since I'm immature. She didn't get it and someone had to explain.
ETA: spelling
This is one of our best friend's names too! Adding to that, his middle name is Peter. I am immature and snickered as well.

--Marco is actually the Italian form of Mark.
ZOOLASH, honest to god. I don't even know what that is?but all her family is in love with the name! Lol
Just-In Love.
ETA: Just Googled him with his last name to make sure memory served correctly, and it was actually Just-In'Love, according to some articles on him.
Apparently he did very well as a college basketball player and did a tour in Iraq. So it didn't mess him up TOO badly.

TBH, there are so many odd names now a days, that these two don't bother me at all. Maybe I'm just used to them.
