ugh, my husband tries to force feed me to "fatten me up" and my step mom keeps telling me its ok because baby is only 2 inches long.

WRONGO charlie brown. She is around 9 inches thank you and is fiercely active, although not so much that it is easy to feel on the outside. So on days like yesterday where she is trying to push her way out my right tummy and causing me a ton of pain no one understands.

I also agree that the "just wait" comments make me want to punch someone. And "get your sleep now!" Really? does it kill people to say something nice?? Is that really so hard to do?

I realize having a baby is tough, im an adult. This was not an accident. I WISH we were still having the twins even though I know it would be twice the work and expenses. And my heart breaks for my friends who can't have the children they so desperately want. Every time I hear someone talk about how horrible their life is after children, or how they never get to go out, or whatever, I lose my shit a little bit.

Your life is what you make of it. No one ever said this would be easy, quit blaming your kid for your unhappiness. Blegh, rant over.

For christ's sake it's not an insult, it's an observation and one that people love to see.

I am having twins and I am huge, and everyday people comment, and laugh and want to see my profile. Strangers smile when they see me. It's part of being pregnant and people love to see it.

I have to disagree here. Wanting to see a defined bump or look pregnant does not mean anybody wants a stranger to make rude and insulting comments to them.

People saying "you look pregnant now" or "wow you are getting bigger" isn't really an insult but the strangers/acquaintances that comment that women look farther along are basically calling them fat...which is an insult. It is not their place to comment on someone's size.

I think most of the general public would be upset if some random stranger commented on their physical appearance without an invitation to do so...baby bump does not equal critique my physique.

Call me crazy but I don't think strangers and aquantainces are intentionally insulting anyone. Are they smiling when they say it, or are they smirking?

My point is that people who are only acquaintances or complete strangers are not "calling you fat" when they comment at the size of a belly. The fact that anyone of us would interpret it that way might indicate that person's current self esteem or negative self thought, rather than some malicious intent from a stranger or a mere acquaintance.

The bellies and boobs (and perhaps the butts) are just going to get bigger ladies. Hands and legs are going to swell. We are all going to be plump and round before this is over and for weeks after.

if you wouldn't comment on the size of my belly with NO baby in it don't comment on it with 2 babies in there.

and even though it may not be intentional it doesn't mean that some people don't get offended or hurt by it. also, those people who do get offended don't necessarily have low self esteem, they are just humans with normal feelings.

I don't get the "just wait...." comments very often since I'm a STM, but these thoroughly pissed me off last time, people would say that, and I'm like at 37 weeks and I finally was like "really, you think it gets worse still! Not much more than this!" I gave birth at 38 weeks and No, it didn't get worse!

Also, I hate those comments to...
"Omg, you are so much bigger than last time I saw you,"
Well no duh, last time you saw me I was only 20 wks, now I'm 29 wks!
"Wow, I can't believe how big you can stretch, and you are gonna get even more huge."
Like come on people haven't you ever seen a pregnant woman before or should I start my own reality tv series, because with these comments you'd think I was the first pregnant person these people had ever met!

It is just a broad a statement to assume that they are actually intentionally being insulting.

I honestly don't believe that people walk around hoping to insult or injure complete strangers feelings. Especially obviously pregnant women.

But people are going to comment, I think that's just human nature.

Just to be clear, I didn't say those people who were offended have low self esteem, I said it "might indicate that person's current self esteem or negative self thought". We all go through ups and downs during pregnancy. Some days I just feel like a dumpy old fat lady.

For me, I choose to not to be offended or hurt by comments rgarding the size of my belly and I don't believe they are intended to critique my body, or to be insulting or hurtful.

I'll leave it at that.
