It is a mix btw Sedona, AZ (holy beautiful), Lake Tahoe (looks amazingly peaceful, although I've never been there) and Rome, Italy (I want to experience European culture for a while....and a train will take you anywhere!)
Ho boy...I would probably live anywhere you send me for a year. And knowing it was only a year, I'd take full advantage of local attractions, and find all the wineries
I would probably not live on the East Coast or California, though. I guess I'm leaning toward Europe somewhere.
If money wasn't an issue, I'd love to live in any other country for a year. Europe somewhere. Or Australia, my dad went there and kept making me jealous with all the pics.
I would probably pick England too. I would love to experience life in Europe, it's easy enough to explore other countries from there, and I only speak english, haha

I was in the Outback, my mom's sister lived in Alice Springs and I got to visit her. I was told to not go barefoot because there are thorns in the grass (didn't listen, had to get one dug out) and when out in the actual desert to stay on the path, away from rocks and plants.
I'd go visit there again, any time, but I don't think I'd want to be there a whole year.
I'd go to Australia. We went there for our honeymoon and I just loved it. I wish it wasn't so far.
Somewhere in Europe would be cool too. I love how close all the countries are, so I would do a lot of travel during my year and visit lots of different places.
Russia, specifically St. Petersburg. It is truly one of the best places I have ever visited and I would have the added bonus of being near my grandmother.
Im originally from Ireland & I've already lived in Switzerland, England & Australia for a year. Currently living in US 10 years. I always toy with the idea of going back home to Ireland so I think I'd try it for a year & see how I'd readjust to the weather & expense of things. And see how MH likes it. My other choice,if lanuage wasn't a factor, would be Slovakia as that's where DH is from, but I really find it a hard lanuage to pick up. Hawaii would be nice too.... FWIW Australia was a beautiful country to live in, don't let the bugs put you off, I didn't see any dangerous ones the whole year I was there.
Although warm Hawaii might be tempting, i'd pick London, UK. Much more to do in ole blighty!

We move every couple years anyway with DH's job (with only about a month's notice of where he will be assigned). In fact, we were supposed to get another assignment in September, but DH told his boss no way were we uprooting and finding another doctor, home, etc. that far into my pregnancy. For now, his job will only relocate us in the U.S. or Canada, but we dream about being ex-pats. New Zealand and Australia top the list.
Sydney, Australia! Studied abroad there for 6 months in college and loved every minute of it . My DH and I went back in 2007 for 3 weeks when one of my study abroad friends married an Australian. It was even more fun with him! I talk all the time about how old our youngest child needs to be to make that trip for a vacation since it's such a long trip. Living there for a year would be my dream.
New Zealand. It's my favorite place that I've visited - I'd move there in a heartbeat! But it's so far away, so knowing I couldn't see my family very often, I don't think I could handle more than 1 year. But it would be an amazing year!!!
It's between Australia, New Zealand, and Bermuda. I'd love to experience Australia or NZ, but I've been to Bermuda a few times and the relaxed way of life and friendly people are amazing!
Edinburgh, Scotland in a heartbeat. I'd also make the most of my year and travel as much as possible in Europe. Everything is so close compared to the states.
This is a very tough question. Part of me would love to go back to Europe and live there again...I don't even care where.
Another bigger part of me wants to live on some tropical island and run around with my tribe of half naked boys and live on coconuts and have sex with my husband all the time. LOL. La la land!
I love living in Scotland and could live here indefinitely...but we will be moving in 1-2 years. If I had to chose another place to live it would be Catalonia, Spain-anywhere along the coast.
Australia without a doubt. I would love nothing more than for us to be able to spend a year with DH's family. The bugs, spiders and snakes really aren't all that bad there. Absolutely love it over there!
@brideandbreve - born and raised in MT and just have to ask, why MT?
@tristalips Maybe it's just because I've never been there and I don't know what Montana is really like, but it's always come across to me like it's sort of a quiet, isolated place, with lots of open space, not a lot of commercialism and busy urban areas, and that appeals to me. Like I said, though, I could be totally wrong on what Montana's really like.. but I've always pictured it with that stereotype of big ranches, fields of horses and cattle, and so forth.

I could totally see my parents retiring to a ranch in Montana. We've gone there 3 times for our family vacations. It's the only place we've gone more than 1x. Beautiful country there!
England! I studied abroad there for six months and would go back in a heartbeat!
O well I am not English but we are in England cose DH is English . Could I move back to Switzerland .... I would do so !! But it's work , kids in schools and British hubby after all, that keeps us here. It's not so bad. It's just not the place I grew up.
