Probably not. I love gifts and DH is sweet about surprising me with things but this isn't on his radar. Besides, we've made fun of family members who have gotten them; it wouldn't do for us to be hypocritical, even to ourselves.
I think it's pretty silly. I did tell DH that he and my BFF's husband are on baby duty and taxi duty once my BFF and I have our babies so we can eat a crapload of sushi and have some wine! That's really all I want!
I say absolutely. End of story. Yes, a healthy baby will be the best present of all, but between carrying, delivering and nursing a baby, I think I'm entitled to a little something extra - and for that I don't apologize. Luckily DH agrees and already put some nice diamond stud earrings on my wish list at our jeweler's
My push present is the Tria laser hair removal tool. I had laser done before getting married, and this pregnancy brought all the hair back. So I told me husband that I want to get a Tria after the baby comes and redo my own laser hair removal. It's almost like a gift for both of us tho :P
In general I am okay with push presents like a sweet necklace, or charm, or something like that. I don't really understand why a woman is given $5000.00 or something like that for each child, but whatever, to each their own I guess.
I'm glad to hear that someone else's hair has grown back after laser hair removal =( I've been so bummed!
My push present will be a giant cupcake from Gigi's. I feel that after 9 months with no cupcakes I deserve the extravagance.
@ajsweeton 9 months without a cupcake? For the love of all that is frosted WHYYY??
Unfortunately I'm diabetic so I'm trying to cut out all the extra sweets. Its super hard with the holidays!! But Gigi's is something that's easily removed.
@ajsweeton Oh noo I can't even begin to imagine how hard that is normally, much less this time of year! You definitely deserve a dozen or so giant cupcakes after 9 months without sweets!!
If we could afford something nice we would totally be into it. But since finances wont allow, hubby has promised me a margarita from my fav restaurant! He even said he'll make sure i get it at the hospital so i can have it asap!
I don't like jewelry or flowers or any of that girlie shit all I want is to go out and have a nice big bloody raw steak followed by a margarita. I cried a lil a few weeks ago because I was wanting a steak so bad I can't wait to be able to indulge again!
My husband and I rarely do birthday or Christmas presents for each other (we usually just buy something we've been wanting for the house) so I didn't even consider a push present and I can guarantee he hasn't even heard of a push present...

You're only supposed to make sure the internal temp reaches 145*, so you can totally enjoy a medium-rare steak. Unless you're a rare-to-practically-raw kinda gal, in which case .
My hubby totally surprised me when I was completely knocked out on meds right after delivery with the oter diamond wedding band for my wedding set. Now I have one band on each side.
However with DS2 I'm sure there won't be anything that elaborate but I could be wrong!

What's this tool all about?? Does it really work?
The tool basically lets you do laser hair removal in the comfort of your own home. I have heard a lot of great reviews saying that it really does work. It isn't supposed to remove ALL unwanted hair but it is supposed to remove 70-80 percent. When I had it done in a professional place I cut down my shaving from once a day to just once a week. This pregnancy made all the hair come back so I want to do it again but I don't want to pay about 4k like I did at a pro. It hurts like crazy, but I use a numbing gel and then wipe it off right before they started and it made it a lot more bearable.
I don't agree with demanding a present, but hells to the yeah I think that I deserve something pretty. I am in bed with a cold and laryngitis and I am pretty convinced this second child will be born with a pitchfork and mother-effing tail just from the torture I received in the first 18 weeks.
I would love a bottle of Veuve Cliquot (yummy champagne) in the hospital after my c-section that I have to have because of the tear in my hip and whatever food I hope I craving the hell out of (this baby has stolen my will to eat) ...maybe something with the baby's birthstone in some form. My DD was a September baby and I still wear the gorgeous Sapphire necklace the hubby got me for my bday/birth.
Oh, and I'll skirt the whole "directing my hubby to get what I want" thing by telling my sister and having her help him ;-)
The fact that I am blessed enough to get pregnant, give birth (even if my baby has to be surgically extracted ) and have my husband by my side are the best presents of my entire life. (Hate if you want to but that's my opinion)
I would like some taco bell or maybe a big juicy hamburger... I'm simple like that and I remember being starving after having my daughter and had no one with me... So that and someone to share the joy would be great !!!
I love it when my hubby spoils me & he likes doing it, so call me selfish but bring on the diamonds & emeralds!!! I currently have a small ruby inside the band of my engagement ring (Egyptian legends say a ruby touching a woman's skin brings great health & prosperity) so we've also discussed placing a small emerald inside as well. Ill be purchasing a nice gift for hubby too.

That One Gal From Alaska
I hope to get a nice gift in May. I'd really like something that represents my 2 boys.
Baby will be born in early may, than my birthday, the next day is Mother's Day, than DH leaves the country for 10 days for work.
Might sound selfish to some, but I'd love something a bit more than normal.
