Baby shower question!

So I know there is a whole forum on baby showers but I would rather your alls input... So my friend wants me to put together a list of who to invite to the shower, I have about 25 girls on there that I know most likely are coming. But what about like friends that you don't see much but would still like to invite? Or guy friends? Can they come too? How much people is too crazy and how much people would you consider appropriate ? Just wondering

Doing a Jack and Jill party isn't a bad thing. Well not that I know of anyway.

We are having a Jack and Jill party but that's mostly because most of my friends are dudes.

I don't think there's such thing as "too crazy" as long as it's within your hosts budget and venue to handle the number you invite. I am working on my shower invite lists as well and when I get to someone that I don't see often or am not as close to, I think about how I would feel being invited to their shower. Would I be hurt to not be invited or would I wonder why they included me? This helps me decide whether to invite or not. I have about 50 people invited to each of my showers (family, work, church) and although not everyone will come, they will be big but they're being cohosted and my hostesses are cool with that number.

We had a Jack and Jill and it was HUGE. But I think it is what you will be comfortable with. It was nice to have all our freinds and family there but it was a bit overwhelming also. I think 25 to 30 is a good amount. Not too many but enough to make it fun.

I love Jack and Jill showers! I think they're so fun!

My DH's family is huge, so my guest list ended up being about 60+ people and it is all women. Most of the guest list is from DH's side and my MIL is planning the shower along with my Mom, so I didn't have much say regarding MIL's half of the guest list.

Man, I am learning so much on these boards: last week I discovered Elf on the Shelf, and now, "Jack and Jill." (Which is likely what I will do for my shower, as I have a few dude friends as well as spouses/SOs of my girlfriends who I want to feel welcome.)

If you already have 25 people and still want to invite others, I am not sure I would make it Jack and Jill style. That seems like an overwhelming amount of people. I hate opening gifts in front of people, and at showers I hate waiting for all of the gifts to be opened in front of me (but that is just me)... But like PP, if your host has the want and room for a ton of people then go for it! Are you only having this one shower?

My hubby is doing a diaper party for all the dudes rather than a jack and jill although I will make snacks and such for it. I think the plan is to get a keg and the "buy in" to drink is to bring a pack of diapers! I will end up having at least 2 showers to keep the numbers reasonable.

Yes I only plan in having one shower for my first. I hate opening gifts on front of people too agh never thought of that!

We do a "suds and duds" or "dudes and diaper bash" for the DH and other spouses during the women's shower. Dudes are supposed to bring a six pack of beer and a case if diapers. :-) typically turns into a football/basketball watching party or poker game.

That is what we are planning too! Poker/guys game night with buy in being a pack of diapers! Such a great idea and gives the boys some good time together too before the baby comes!

My husband wanted to have one coed, which actually helps because my family one will be so big. His best friends GF wants to throw it and we are pretty close now. So, the other day apparently his friend asked how much WE want to spend?! She offered to have one before we thought coed and was excited to have it that way because she did. But what?! We have to pay, um I don't think so! Why would I pay for any ideas someone else comes up with? Please tell me I'm not overreacting. My husbands says he'll just pay for whatever. (Sorry didn't mean to take anything from your post but didn't want to start another baby shower thread).
