  I was prescribed Synthroid in Feb with my first pg because my TSH came back elevated too which is very normal in pregnancy. I haven't had any side effects and have stayed on it with all of my following cycles. It's just really important you take it on an empty stomach. I usually take mine int he middle of the night when I get up to use the bathroom. It's put my levels in a normal place. There's nothing to worry about. Good luck!

  9/17/13 - BFP @ 5dp6dt! EDD 05/31/14
  9/29/13 - m/c @ 5w1d.

  I've veen taking synthriod since stimming, I'm now 33w4d pg. I didn't have any side effects. 1 hr before breakfast sucks because I am like starving waiting the hour. Nothing to it, small pill too.

  TTC Since 112010 Naturally. Diagnose:PCOS(ME) + Low Motility(HIM). Started IVF+ICSI Cycle 12312. ER 27 & ET 210 two embies transferred. *BFN 1ST IVF CYCLE.* **Getting as healthy as possible and will try IVFICSI#2 again hopefully in April.** -- HAVE FAITH; LET GO & LET GOD --

  I have been synthroid for about 6 years now due to Hashimoto's (autoimmune), and my husband has been on it since his thyroid was removed due to cancer a few years ago (he has a super high dose though). I never noticed any side effects, but they should monitor you closely to make sure your levels don't go too low or high throughout the pregnancy. I think it takes at least 2 weeks to see a difference in your bloodwork once you start or change med doses. I would also recommend taking the brand name if you can. We were told the generic levothyroxine isn't as consistent as actual synthroid. I am being checked every 4 weeks by my endocrinologist. My dose didn't change during my first pregnancy but so far this time I had to increase it while TTC and just increased it again at 8 weeks pregnant. Like others said, you do need to take it in the morning and about 1 hour before eating. I have an alarm to take it so when I actually have to get up for the day, I can have my crackers. Waiting that hour to eat really made my morning sickness worse!

  I was also prescribed Synthroid after my first round of blood draws. They upped the original prescription, but I haven't noticed any side effects with either dose. The pill bottles always say to take 30 minutes -1 hour before eating, first thing in the morning. I keep it and water next to my bed and take it when I first get up, before getting in the shower. By the time I make it to the kitchen for coffee or milk, it's been about 45 minutes and I'm good to go. It was really hard when I had m/s, because you have to drink it with a lot of water which I couldn't stomach. OB okayed me drinking it with Gatorade instead which went down better at 6:30am!

  Me: 42. DH: 46.

  1st Pregnancy: MC, 11/19/00.

  2nd Pregnancy: DS born 04/10/06.

  3rd Pregnancy: CP, 03/11.

  4th Pregnancy: MMC, D&C 11/30/11, Genetic testing revealed Trisomy 4.

  5th Pregnancy: Ectopic, 2 doses of Methotrexate unsuccessful, surgery 4/10/12, right tube removed.

  Tried Letrozole January 2013-July 2013 (including 2 IUIs), all BFN.  After 2 1/2 years of trying for child #2, decided to "give up" after July cycle, based on AMA.

  August 16, 2013:  BFP our first month of "not trying!"  Still in shock.  Beta #1 (14dpo): 183.  Beta #2 (17dpo):  611.  Ultrasound 8/30/13: baby measured 6 weeks, 1 day, heart rate of 118 bpm! 
  Ultrasound 9/13/13:  8 weeks, heart rate of 176!
  Baby is due 4/26/14

  I've been on synthroid since I got my BFP.  Similar to you, mine was 3.8, which is normal, but they wanted it under 2.5 for pregnancy.  I'm on 50mcg/day.  I DID have a yucky side effect at first...my hair started falling out in clumps - like literally gobs of hair, so bad it really scared me - that started about 7-10 days after I started taking it and it continued to happen for about 2-3 weeks.  It finally stopped when I hit 8/9 weeks and now my hair is getting really thick and growing super fast, so as sucky as it was it was only temporary and now I have the luscious pregnancy hair I hear tales of :-).  It seems like this isn't all that common, but if it happens don't be surprised.

  I've been on it since march. My ri wants my level between 1-2. I agree about the empty stomach and my hair falls out constantly. I'm hoping that stops soon.
