Scary/eventful morning - but everything looks ok

Hi Ladies,
Well, I had my first scare today. First, I have not had ANY bleeding so far this pregnancy, so today was a shocker for me! I was in a meeting, and I thought I might be having a bit of discharge, but when I stood up, I felt a definite gush. Thankfully, the woman next to me handed me a pad, and by the time I got to the restroom, I had completely bled through my underwear, leggings, and dress that I was wearing. I was freaked out. The coworker that gave me the pad wins "friend of the year" because she had a pad for me and offered to stay with me. I called the OB office and they said I could come (across the street). The OB at the office found the heart tones and then did a speculum exam, saying that the cervix is closed and there was no heavy bleeding at the time. I then went across the street the the hospital for an ultrasound, where I got to see both babies looking great (thankfully!), and was diagnosed with a SCH of about 2 x 3cm.
Any input or advice on SCHs would be appreciated! Thanks for all the T & Ps - I needed them today!

That would have freaked me out! I'm so sorry for the scare, but if it helps at all, I had 3 SCHs starting at week 6. My RE found all 3 during an ultrasound where she was checking for hb. I was put on bed rest for 2 weeks until they shrunk because RE was afraid they'd spread and merge together and then cause a miscarriage. I didn't have any bleeding, just a tiny bit of brown spotting, but I was terrified every day that some straining movement would spread the bleeds and merge them into one.

The thing that helped me was knowing that they are seemingly common. Lots of women on here have said they had one or more and everything turned out fine. Mine resolved by 14 weeks and everything's been fine since then.

I just re-read what I wrote and I hope it didn't come across too scary. I think my sch issues were unique to my situation. I don't think all sch's are that dire as mine sounded (which it wasn't, just in my head it was way worse). It sounds like your ob isn't too worried, so try not to worry either. (Easier said than done, I know)

Glad everything turned out ok. I had bleeding that sent me to ER at 11 weeks that was a small SCH. Bled for a day then spotted for two weeks and stayed in pelvic rest for the next 10 weeks just because I was scared lol. Totally normal thing to have happen although that doesn't make it less scary!

Very scary. Same thing happened to me at 13 weeks with blood gushing everywhere. I was put on bed rest for a couple weeks until bleeding stopped. Glad babies are good.

Glad everything is OK. I had scary bleeding between weeks 12 and 13, too. I was sure it was over. Nothing about this process is easy is it?

I'm glad everything turned out okay! I had a small SCH that started bleeding around 13 weeks. The "gushing" was definitely scary, but everything turned out okay. My doctor just told me to take it easy (no exercise and pelvic rest), and he had me in for more frequent u/s just for my own peace of mind. It was resolved by my a/s at 19 weeks. I hope yours resolves itself soon!
