My H is off from 12/25 and goes back 1/20. Baby is coming 1/3, so I'll have 17 days with help! Won't have the full 3 weeks until I can pick DS up, so I'll have to have him nap on the couch or figure something out...hopefully he will be in a bed by that point.
I voted two weeks, but really that's just what he's given for R&R, and it just so happens that his crew is taking their leave right after my EDD. We had no say in dates, so it worked out really well.
I put SS. DH doesn't exactly have time to take off, he works hourly, and we need his pay. I didn't take the 1st one, because I don't think he's a bastard for it. He'll be with me at the hospital, but then I'm on my own for the most part coming back. We'll see how that works out...
However, he'll probably be working from home, but will still need to put in the hours.
My older daughter was born at 12:14 am on a Monday morning. He went back to work on Tuesday. Although I've asked him to take more time this time, I don't think he will.
My husband gets 10 days, which is 2 work weeks. He works out of town, and his boss told him that at the beginning, he can also work a few days a week from the local office and go up there for the other few days.
It will be a big blessing if they follow through and allow him to do that, so I can get some night time help during the part of the week when he is home! That's the part I'm most worried about - is taking care of 2 kids by myself while he is gone. My mom is going to come stay for a while and help out once DH has to go back to work though.
He gets 2 weeks of paternity leave and then will take 2 weeks of personal leave on top of that. We are lucky that he is in a training flight and the shop is really family friendly.
SS. My DH is in law school, and works as an independent contractor from home. He will be on winter break until 1/13, and will go back to school 2 days a week after that. He usually works out of the house, or out of local coffee shops or libraries on other days. I am interested to see how we will interact, as I've been working FT the entire time he's been in this student/WAH role.
Our Baby Girl, Emma, changed our lives forever when she was born 12-19-13
My DH is self-employed, so he will be off, but on call-ish as he will not be shutting down his business. This will probably last a couple of weeks before he gets back to normal, but he dictates his own schedule anyway.
MH just got a new job and they are giving him 1 week paid paternity leave. Soooo thankful as his last job did not give paid leave at all and him taking any days off would take away from his vacation days.
@dempseyjosh is taking a week of his regular paid vacation when I go into labor and then the following week instead of his normal job he'll be working an over night shift (3am-9am) so he'll be home during the day with me.

DH has off from next friday until January 6th. If I go into labor early (like I did with DD) then he might not have to take off any time at all. If I go into labor any time after January 1st he'll take a week to two weeks off dependent on how everyone is adjusting.
H has clinic 3 times a week, so he will most likely take one full week off (unless there is an emergency with one of his patients), but he also works for a nutraceutical company and makes his own hours/meetings etc. He is planning on having a 'slower' January in anticipation of baby... He will also plan his meetings in the afternoon/evening so that he can spend time with me and baby in the mornings, and my mom will come and be with me in the afternoon and evening.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7
Hubs technically can take 12 weeks unpaid paternity leave and can use it anytime within the first year, but I don't want him around that long. He might take two weeks but not back to back. I don't really know, we are just going to play it by ear. It depends really on how I am doing!
H gets 3 days off so that's what he'll take. I don't actually want him to take paternity leave because that would be deducted from my maternity leave (that's how I understand it anyways) and I want my full year!
I said 4+ weeks, but he gets to take 12 weeks total anytime over the first 12 months. He's planning on taking 3 weeks immediately, 2-3 in the summer, and will take the rest as needed if I need help or myself/LO gets sick or something.
2 weeks unpaid. He was thinking of taking a week vacation as well, but my MIL is very ill and will need time to travel for any last goodbyes so he needs to hold onto it.
SS here. He gets a week and a half off during the holiday and was thinking of just staying off after that but we don't know how long yet. We just found out today he will qualify for CA Paid Family leave to bond with the baby (we were told before he did not qualify). So that is great news! We are actually sitting down tonight to look at the calendar to see what makes sense for us. He was thinking of splitting up his FMLA time between now and then again in the fall. So basically we are undecided and all over the place right now!
@tootsscott, WOW!! 3 mon pat leave is pretty sweet although I can't decide if I'm green w/ envy or not b/c I might need a break after so much QT together lol but then again, it's all a different dynamic once the babes are here. regardless, you've given me more reason to consider moving overseas
He'll probably only do a couple days. He took through the weekend after Julia was born and went back to work on Monday. I'm assuming it'll be the same this time

He will take the day I have the baby, the next day and the day we come home from the hospital. Maybe, just maybe one more day. It's ok, he helps a ton once he is home from work!
DH doesn't get paid paternity leave. He has 3 weeks of vacation/sick leave he can use if the baby comes in January. If we have the baby in December, he only has 3 days left unused. I want him to take 2 weeks, but I picked 1 weeks since I think that will be more realistic.

@missimone, we're very lucky he can get that time off paid, and he's thrilled to get to spend that time with his babies.. Though that wasn't the plan if it were only one! We have no family in town and from what I've heard about the first YEAR of twins is that it's literally about survival- get whatever help I can get!!
My husband gets the day baby is born off and will take a day or two after that, depending on what day I give birth, before going back to work. He'll just use vacation time as he gets 17 days so a couple days isn't a huge deal.

He's just using a few days of vacation. He doesn't get much and doesn't have much leftover, but he'll use it when DS2 comes. He might work from home a few days as well.
Hubs works at a school with great built in vacation time. So he is taking about 1week right after birth, but then gets 2weeks in April, and will take his 4 week summer vacation as soon as school is out in June. Our hope is to not require outside child care until July 1.
SS here -- DH gets 2 or 3 weeks (can't remember) but he will probably only take a week. He will take the whole thing if I need/want him to, but he will stress too much about work if he stays out too long. But my mom, MIL, and SIL will all be coming at different points in the first few weeks anyway.
I am so lucky that my Hubs took a new job with AMAZING benefits jusssst in time for our LO to arrive. Seeing as how mat leave is shite for us - having him home and PAID for 3 weeks is a blessing. Now if I could get him to stop dropping stuff on the floor 8->
DH just started a new job yesterday, and he's not allowed to miss any days before the end of his 42-day probation is up. So he can't take any time off, and I'd hesitate for him to try and call in even when I'm in labor. He works the overnight shift tho, so hopefully he can at least be there for the birth.
