Have any of you ladies used a gift from your parents as part of a downpayment? We had been planning on it on a house we just had our offer accepted on and now the banks giving us a hard time. From what I've researched you just need a letter from the gifter that you don't need to pay it back. What has your experiences been?
Re: NBR: Downpayment
Yup, just a letter from the person giving you the money and saying that it is a gift and not a loan. I don't think we had to get it notarized or anything.
LO then (2 days) and now (1 year)
We got lucky and my aunt was our agent so we didn't have to pay any down payments, but it was just after the crash
