Ok ladies, OBVIOUSLY everyone wants a healthy baby. But let's say you're playing God and you have to choose one or another. Which way are you leaning? Why?
Oh boo, it won't let me edit to add twins options :-(
I said boy, because as I mentioned in another thread, I'm kind of terrified of raising a teenage girl. I have no idea how to convince her not to post topless pics of herself on the internet, or talk to gross old men in chatrooms, or get KU before it's the right time. Maybe I just watch too much Dr. Phil, but that's where I am with that.
I picked boy because DH really wants a boy. I already have my princess so it doesn't really bother me if we have a boy.

I have died every day waiting for you. Darling, don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years. And all along I believed I would find you, time has brought your heart to me. I have loved you for a thousand years. I'll love you a thousand more.
I say girl because I want a mini me. I'm very girly and I think I'd relate so much better to a girl. Plus I'm extremely close to my mom and I want that relationship with a daughter.
DH would like a boy, I think. I go back and forth between picturing this one as a girl and a boy, I just don't feel like I have a preference one way or the other.
I can't decide. I really want to have a boy but then again, I really want another girl because they are so much fun. I guess I really want twins... One of each! But not really because I have no clue how to handle two babies and a toddler.

i hear ya! my mom, a puerto rican mom, told me these things and it worked! she said:
1) wait for the right guy, your birdy deserves a cucumber, not a crayon! the older they are, the better it is for you!
2) men will do you, leave you and then talk behind your back
3) don't be easy, would you rather work for something you want or just get it for free? doesn't it feel great when you work hard for it? Make him work!
4) don't do something that would bring shame to your family, don't make your dad cry
5) boys don't really fully develop till they are 25ish, do you really want to drag a child around with you?
6) find someone like your dad, smart, rich and who will not just take care of you, but will build his family with you.
7) find someone you will be proud to show off and BE someone he will be proud to show off.
For me, it worked, i met my husband at 22, married him at 26, he was first, one and only. i used to LOVE to tease and leave them hanging. sure my sister and i had ridiculouse expectations, but i found a guy that met them so it is possible.
Everyone wants me to have a boy, as we don't have any boy grandchildren on my side (only one niece) and DH's side has no boys to carry on the last name, not even cousins, and we are as everyone states the "last hope." (Eye roll by me) I said girl, though, bc I think if we have a boy I think we will end up one and done, where if it's a girl I know DH will want to have to to "try" for a boy. And, I would just like to have that mother/daughter relationship. I would also love to have a son, though.
I want another boy. No gun to my head needed. I would love a girl, it would be incredible to have a girl- but if I got the ultimate choice I would choose another boy. I know what to expect with a boy, and I'd love DS to grow up with a companion.
Also....... The idea of cleaning a tiny vagina scares me.
Haha if it's any consolation, I never found it that much harder than cleaning a tiny penis/scrotum.

I voted girl because I definitely want one, but I'd love two adorable little boys running around the house. So, I guess I don't care, but at some point I want a girl.
I said girl because: 1: I already have EVERYTHING for a girl. & 2: because my mom has a "feeling" it's a boy, and I just really want her to be wrong. Lol

I would kind of like another girl because then I could name her after my grandmother, plus teeny tiny dresses are so cute.
But after having one of each, I feel like at least during early childhood, it really comes down so much more to your child's individual personality than what is between their legs. I always thought I would connect better to a daughter because I was always much closer with my mom and like girly stuff so much. But I actually feel like I click more with my son. Our personalities just mesh better.

I honestly have no idea what I would prefer - for the same reasons you mention salsera a girl scares me but I also know nothing about raising a boy, although I'm a ftm so I don't know anything about raising anything. All of that said given how hormonal and crazy I am right now If someone put a gun to my head and told me to choose I would probably respond with something like "I would like a purple unicorn please"
First, thank you for prefacing this with the fact that obviously we all want healthy babies. I picked boy both because I am terrified of teenaged girls and because DS was a July baby so the possibility to reuse clothes/toys/things might be high.
Pretty much this. Teenage girls are an entirely different species, lol. And because DH already has a girl from a past relationship. And because i hate pink. And because it would piss off my MIL < i'm evil.
Everybody says it will be a girl though. And i'm okay with that.
I say girl because I want a mini me. I'm very girly and I think I'd relate so much better to a girl. Plus I'm extremely close to my mom and I want that relationship with a daughter.
See I just can't decide... Our son is 15 months now and this pregnancy was a surprise. I like the idea of having a boy because I already know what I'm doing after the mistakes I made on the first one, and then at least I'll only screw up the first boy. If I have a girl, I risk having them both screwed up.
We also have all the gear, and clothes, and toys for a boy and it would be really nice not having to buy much. But then, everything that cakebatter said makes me want a girl. So I officially don't care right now.

I also really wanted a boy last time and got a girl. Couldn't imagine having a boy now. With that said, I do want a boy this time because my daughter is SOOO girly, I feel like I need some balance in my house! The only reason why I would want a girl now is that DH only wants 2 kids, but only if we have one of each. He's willing to go for the 3rd if we have another girl and I've always wanted 3 kids. HOWEVER, if this one is a girl and we try for another and get ANOTHER girl, I might SHIT.
I have a friend who is pregnant with her 5TH girl. Her poor DH!
I have no preference. Raising either boy or girl scares the living bejeezus out of me. So as long as they have 10 fingers, 10 toes and are mine, I am happy.
I've always wanted one of each and we already have a wonderful girl, so I voted boy. But I know how fun girls are so it's not like I will be upset if this one is a girl.
I said a girl, because the girl names I have picked out are cuter, and boy names are too hard for me. Also, I'm terrified of cleaning a penis. You should see me change a boy's diaper, I'm just a wreck.
@bpaws would agree with me, because I want to name my son Angus. That was my mom's favorite dogs name. See how bad I am at this?

I said boy. I'm not fully sure why, but I am a bit terrified of the difficulties in raising girls today, also my MIL has been making comments for YEARS about how she hates girls . But in her defense, she was a middle school English teacher for 30 years.
I always wanted DD to have a sister, but we really want at least one boy, and since this will probably be our last pregnancy, we hope we will have either a girl and a boy, or 2 boys. Of course if it's 2 girls, we'll be happy though. Ahh so many girls!!!
I voted for girl. I already have a boy and would really like to have one of each. I was also hoping for a girl the last time, but DS is great and I would definitely take another one of him.
I also always wanted one of each, so boy since we have a DD. Also a friend of mine has a little boy and I am obsessed with him. However I also think sisters would be pretty awesome and I have fallen in love with girl nursery plans too, seasonally they would be really close which means all of DD's clothes would work. I still want a boy though, although terrified of diaper changes with a tiny penis
I said boy. I already have 2 boys and think I finally have them figured out by now. I'm a mom of boys, I wouldn't know what to do with a girl! My husband really wants a daughter (and I'd love to see him caring for our daughter) and we have a girl's name already picked out. No idea what name we will use if we have another boy. We will be overjoyed with whatever this baby is in the end.
I would like a girl because I'm very close to my mom but I would be totally fine with all boys, too. I just hope they call me more than DH calls his mom.
I picked girl. I would love DD to have a sister. I think sister relationships are so special. Practically I also chose girl because we could re use a lot of DDs clothes/shoes/etc.
I know DH really wants a boy. I already know how to be a mom to a girl! Having a boy feels like it would be starting from ground zero.
I really dont care what we have, as long they as they are healthy but since we have two (fraternal twins) I am kind of hoping to have one of each. Trying to get pregnant and this first trimester are two things I could do without ever again!
I want a girl, mostly because my brother told me today to "focus on having a boy" because his wife wants to have the first granddaughter (she's due in May).
A. I can focus on one sex or the other all I want, it won't change anything.
B. I'm scared if they do have a girl (first or not). SIL chooses to dress in gothic lolita on a daily basis. Not just for conventions, but in her everyday wardrobe. I can only imagine what they will do if they have a daughter.
