undissolved stitch?

I just found an un-dissolved stitch/ string. My LO turns 4 weeks tomorrow. Yes I have paid attention to my healing but for some reason didn't notice this until now. Has anyone had this happen? Healing has gone great I feel with only a little soreness remaining which I think may be in correlation with this string. Any ideas/advice? I will be calling my Dr this afternoon

Re: undissolved stitch?

  • I had one from my csection that the ob clipped and removed at my follow up appt. I wasn't surprised bc i had undissolved stitches after having my wisdom teeth out, too. Not a big deal.
and your probably didn't notice it until inflammation went down enough to feel it (that's my guess, at least).

  • I went for a 3week PP check and dr said most stitches are still there, but should be gone within the next few weeks.
  • Ok thanks everyone. I thought they were supposed to be dissolved in 7-10 days
  • I went for my check up 5 weeks after a vaginal birth and I still had one. It went away a couple weeks after that.

  • I had some that were still around at my 6 wk checkup with #1. Although I was healed, it was very uncomfortable down there because the stitch was always pulling. Dr removed the stitch at that visit and it was instantly better. Didn't have any problems with #2.
