Christmas Gifts Traditions

Are you continuing any Christmas gift traditions with your little one that you had growing up? What were your traditions? We had a silly one that I think I will continue. Every year our pets "got" us a calendar. I think I might get ds a small gift from the dog (omg I sound insane) just for fun and to keep the tradition going.

    We were allowed to open one present Christmas eve and when A is older she will do that as well. We did not have many gift traditions. My husband did but prefers not to continue them.

    Okay so for those doing pajamas, do you wash them first that night or you just wear them?

    We also do the pjs but I'm going to have a book along with it and hot cocoa. (Hot cocoa when she is older lol)

    Edit ok My quoting did not go well but I was trying to respond to @beaubecca I believe it was you who was talking about a Santa letter.

    I just wanted to let you know that you can mail a letter to Santa at this address
    SANTA CLAUS
    North Pole HOH OHO
    CANADA

    You will actually get a letter from Santa back. The only thing is you don't get your letter back so you might want to make a copy. It's free and I know here we don't even need a stamp. (I am in Canada, a stamp might be required other places) Postal workers and retired postal workers answer the letters. They get letters from all over the world.

    I will trim this tomorrow, my phone is not letting me do it properly and I have no computer to use right now.

    Our traditions are;
    We go to a Carol service before Christmas.
    Pjs on Christmas Eve
    Christmas movies on Christmas Eve
    Midnight mass on Christmas Eve (allowed to open one present).

    We always all got PJ's on Xmas eve. I have done this also for DD, myself and my H. We all get them to wear Xmas eve.

    Eta- I washed mine first I am glad I'm not the only one. I thought I was maybe being a weirdo...

    My mom never wrapped them. She would just have them washed and lay them on my bed.

    We always do pjs as well, but I love the idea of a book and cocoa (when older) too!

    DH had a tradition of opening Christmas PJ's and reading a book before bedtime. We will do the same with DD. 
    We also want to start an advent calendar next year.

    Christmas Eve boxes with PJs, cocoa, popcorn, a Christmas movie/Disney movie and cookie cutters.

    We do an advent calendar with chocolates and a Christmas activity each day. Everyone opens 1 present Christmas eve and its always new jammies :) 
    This year I started the something to wear, read , need and want from us plus their jammies and a homemade gift. Then their Santa gifts and stockings. Hoping this cuts back on the craziness that I sometimes do.

    My mom always buys us all (including DH) PJs but says they are from Mrs Claus. She lives for this so I wasn't upset when she wanted to buy R's pjs. Mrs Claus went a little nuts shopping so he has 5 pairs so we've already started wearing a few.
