Question for Team Green STMs

My anatomy scan is next week and I'm still debating on whether or not to keep the sex a secret. For those of you that are waiting and are STM, are you having a baby shower? Before or after the baby is born? I know this isn't anything urgent or really important, just wanting your opinions and thoughts on this. I've heard of people not having a shower for your second baby, unless it's the opposite sex. But I've always been in the mind that every baby should be celebrated!  So if you don't know, is it selfish to get another shower? And, if it is the opposite sex after it's born, should you have the shower then?  I have a son, and I'm just thinking that if I keep it a secret and it's a boy, I'm set, but if I have a girl, I'm not going to be prepared, clothing-wise.  Please, your thoughts on this, no judgment!

    I'm not team green, but I think you should have a shower if you have people that want to throw one for you to celebrate this new baby!

    I am team green for the second time and I will not be having a shower.  Second showers are just not done in my circle.  It is considered gift grabby.  I have a few gender neutral items that we got before DS was born and if I have a girl, we'll probably go to Once Upon a Child and stock up!

    I will not be having a second shower either. If someone surprises me ill be grateful but we already have everything we need. We have a son already and I was sure to get gender neutral bedding and decor with him so that won't be a problem. I plan to bring a gender neutral outfit to the birh center and use what gender neutral clothing we had from DS until we can order clothes online or send out my mom or MIL when they visit. In the grand scheme of things, clothes just don't matter.

    I would say if you'd like to stick with team green- having the "right color" clothes for baby in the first few days isn't going to outweigh that amazing moment when you hear "it's a ___."
