GTKY: Top 5 Tuesday

edited December 2013 in September 2012 Moms

Since my stupid self drove to work this morning in the snow and now I am stuck here for the forseeable future, someone play with me.  My ex and I used to play this game.  Let's start with an easy one:

Top 5 songs of all time

GO

(ETA:  I capitalized in all the right places but TB won't do it.  WTF)

Re: GTKY: Top 5 Tuesday

  • I couldn't decide how to rank them, so they're not in order of importance:

    1) Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes (Paul Simon)

    2) Only Living Boy in New York (Simon n Garfunkel)

    3) Don't Think Twice It's Alright (Bob Dylan)

    4) Maggie's Farm (Bob Dylan)

    5) Think (Aretha Franklin)

  • This is nearly impossible to just pick 5, but here are some I love, even though I'm leaving out many more:

Janis Joplin: Piece of My Heart
Louie Armstrong: What a Wonderful World
Frank Sinatra: The Way You Look Tonight
Elvis: Can't Help Falling in Love

  • I can't believe I left out James Taylor, You've Got a Friend is definitely a favorite. Apparently I suck at limiting it to 5 songs :)

  • Ooh this is really hard.
    In random order:

    Big Me - Foo Fighters
Midnight Train to Georgia - Gladys Knight and the Pips
Blown Wide Open - Big Wreck
Big Empty - Stone Temple Pilots
    Black - Pearl Jam

(weird - almost all of them start with B)

  • My personal top 5 would be a different list, but most of the songs I like are pretty obscure, so I don't think they count as top 5 ever. My top 5 EVER are the ones that I think will stand the test of time, and can unite a room of drunk people in mutual comradarie/make you love the person you're dancing with.

    Hotel California - The Eagles
Money for Nothing - Dire Straits
    Deacon Blues - Steely Dan
    Don't Stop Believin' - Journey
    Naive Melody - Talking Heads

Runnesr Up would be One - U2 (my go to karaoke song) or Tweeter and the Monkeyman by the Traveling Wilburys.

  • Crash- Dave Matthew's Band

What a Wonderful World- Louis Armstrong

I Will Always Love You- Whitney Houston

Every Breath You Take- The Police

    Seasons of Love- Rent

ugggh so jelly! I saw BR live in a very intimate setting and it was hands down the best show I've seen. Better than John Mayer - and that's saying something!
