FTM Feeling Impatient!

Anyone else feeling incredibly impatient to have there baby here already? Within the last week I keep getting these waves of impatience. Almost like homesickness for this baby. I was almost in tears this morning. Must be hormones...

Just me? Is everyone savoring the last bits of alone time?

I felt like I was pregnant forever the first time because all I could do was wait for the time to pass and baby to be here! Each subsequent pregnancy has gone by much faster since I'm busy with the other kids and don't think about this pregnancy 24/7.

  • Same and the PP, I felt that way with the first.  This time I'm almost half way already and don't know how I got here.

  • I am a FTM and I'm feeling the same way! My husband and I were coming home last night from watching my SIL's 1 and 2 year old and we were saying, we can't wait for our world to turn upside down and change completely.
  • My husband is having a case of impatience as a FTD. He's ready to meet baby, I'm cool with waiting! Haha It feels like it's going super fast.

  • I'm a FTM and I'm super impatient about everything with the pregnancy...I'm ready to feel consistent movement, ready to have a bump, ready for my 20 week ultrasound, ready to have an even bigger bump and especially ready to have our baby in my arms!! Each week seems to pass by pretty quickly tho..

  • I got that way toward the end of my first pregnancy, but I really tried to be mindful about enjoying it. You'll never have that first pregnancy again! This time around, I'm trying to focus on enjoying the time with DS, because he'll never be an only child again.
  • I feel the same way. Especially because right now my work schedule is slow, but my husband is gone on work trips a LOT and I'm home alone a LOT. Like, Sunday-Friday gone. Wahh. I want my little sidekick here to keep me busy and keep me company!

  • I'm actually more impatient this time as a STM, but I definitely know that they are way easier to take care of on the inside! When I was pg with M I hadn't had much 'baby' experience.  Now, I know how precious baby snuggles are and I miss them!

That said, I forget I'm pregnant half the time and it's flying by and I know he'll be here before I know it.

    yep. all of this.

enjoy your time now. because one day it will be a novelty to say "i'm going to the grocery store" and just grab your bag and leave! ah, the things I took for granted...
Or going to the bathroom alone!

Also a busy FT working mom with a toddler. This pregnancy is going by so fast. I'm excited to meet LO, but am really focusing on spending lots of time with DD these last few months before all our worlds are turned around!

  • I'm super impatient about it! So is DH. Every week, I look forward to what fruit I'll be and it seems like a whole month has passed by! Time between appointments seem to take forever. We're both just really excited to have the baby here!
  • I'm a FTM and feeling the total opposite. I had a mini internal freakout last night when I realized there were only about 5 months left...assuming LO chooses to come on time. Say little poppy decided to come early...that leaves me with even less time. Don't get me wrong, I am excited to meet my baby, but I am in no way wanting to rush the pregnancy.
Besides, I won't be able to justify eating this delicious bowl of mac-n-cheese from Panera when I'm not pregnant anymore.
  • I'm feeling very impatient for any time of movement in there! I can't wait for the kicks and punches that come later :)

  • I'm just trying to enjoy it. Come may ill be pushing a baby out, over night become a mom of two, and move 13 hours away. The thought just stresses me out.
  • I'm not a FTM, but I am experiencing the same feeling! I'm trying to slow down and really enjoy this pregnancy, but I just can't wait to meet my daughter! I've been waiting on her for years, and knowing that I am this close is just hard to be patient!

  • I'm good with enjoying my pregnancy for now. I'm excited to meet LO, but somehow I'll be 20 weeks on Thursday, and I'd be okay if it slowed down just a little.

  • I usually feel that way. Until last night when I started to freak out that there wasn't much time left before I had to keep a baby alive outside my body and I started to freak out about if I'm able to do it. Again I know that it was just me being super emotional. Sometimes I start to laugh while I'm crying cause I realize how ridiculous it is that I'm crying over said thing. My husband thinks it's the funnest thing.

  • This is totally a FTM thing.  I was like this with my son, now I can wait.  The only reason I want to rush things is so I can stop puking constantly...it is getting old.

  • This is my 3rd and I'm good with waiting. I have so much crap to do before baby comes that I'm in no rush. I do get curious about some things though (boy or girl, what will baby look like, what will baby weigh, etc).

  • I go in waves. It definitely feels like I've been pregnant FOREVER and I can't wait to feel the baby move, but i feel like there's a ton of things to do and get done before the baby is here and I'm going to run out of time!

  • I want to fast forward to having my baby in my arms. Too much worry when baby is still in the ute as m body can't be trusted to keep it safe. I know once its here that I can and will be an awesome mom though. So fast forward to baby and I'd even deal with not having anything done yet!

  • I'm a second time mom and I'm super impatient sometimes, but then other times I think about how different it will be with 2 instead of just 1 and want more time!

I was definitely impatient with my first and it only got worse later as I got uncomfortable. I was actually thrilled when they scheduled an induction for 39 weeks because of his size. This was after me saying no to their original plan, which was to schedule a c-section for 39 weeks. I expect a similar situation with this baby and will be really realllllly impatient if I have to wait until 41 weeks.
  • I'm with OP, and I'm a STM. I don't like pregnancy and I just want this baby in my arms.

This for me too. I feel guilty since its my first, but I don't care too much about "being pregnant". I love my growing bump and the occasional kicks, but I just want baby here already. Ready or not. My bod just seems foreign and I don't like how I feel.

Yes!! So far the movement is faint and random.. Hard to tell.. Not showing a whole lot.. Only symptom from beginning has been boobs.. I look at pictures & read all the time about baby according to their gestational age! 17wks today. FTM. Elective U/S tomorrow! I thought it'd never get here!! I've been asking DH if "it's Wednesday yet." Haha. Hurry up 8:30 tomorrow!!! :D
  • I thought id be impatient as a FTM but I'm seriously feeling like it's flying by. I can't believe I'll be 20 weeks next week, how am I already almost half way through? I'm sure as the date gets closer ill just be begging to get this one out :)

  • I'm a FTM and feeling pretty calm. I like knowing little bug goes everywhere with me, and is safe and cozy. I feel like pregnancy is going pretty quickly, and I'm trying to cherish it. Aside from being anxious to see baby for my a/s next week, I'm pretty zen! ;;)

This is pretty much me.  I don't know if I'm practical to the point of boring or what, but even with my first I figured it's easier to go around and do things pregnant than with a baby.  If the baby is still an 'inside' baby, he's fed and warm enough and not crying, and much easier to carry.  Everybody else was impatient for me to have my son, but I was mostly just fine with waiting, even though I went ten days late with him.
  • I'm a FTM too and I think I'll start to feel that way whenever I start feeling the baby move which will hopefully be soon! My belly already popped which surprised me because I'm only 15w5d and I already look HUGE
