Perioral dermatitis?

Anyone have any experience with this? Our LO has a bad rash around his nose and mouth, traveling up to the corners of his eyes. The pedi said she thinks it's perioral dermatitis and referred us to a dermatologist. I have totally freaked myself out with googling and seeing that this can take up to 6 months to go away and can cause facial scarring. :(

    DH had this when he was younger, although I think it only lasted for 6 weeks and he has no scarring.

    There is a picture of him on Halloween as a clown and around his lips is all red...it looks like he was a cannibal clown and I laugh so hard every time I see it.

    @cerratocc: do you know how he treated it? My LO is all red around his nose and mouth, it looks awful and I think it's uncomfortable for him too...
