I'm doing well. My shower chair is "out for delivery" so I'll hopefully be able to take a less stressful shower with less contractions! Ha. The things I never thought I would look forward too...
I'm sorry to hear about the death in your family. That's so tough.
My mom is also coming this week because this is my H's busiest week of the month for work. That will be nice to have someone here all the time.
Doc in 3 days and 28 weeks in 4 days. Golly, can't wait..!
Hope you all have a calm, quick Tuesday....
Married to my dream husband
Mom to 2 year old BG twins (Incompetant cervix, cerclage, and LOTS of bed rest)
Hi, best wishes for a great doctor appointment today. I have one also, just the weekly OB appointment. We'll see if there are any more changes in my cervix.
It was a gorgeous morning, so I layed on a chaise lounge on our deck to read and hear the birds chirping. Man, I felt like a human again. I'm back inside now since it was getting pretty hot. I hope I can keep the home bed rest thing going, I realize how nice I have it to go on a deck. My thought are with the hospital bed resters... That can be so incredibly more difficult.
Expecting twins! Put on strict bedrest at home after preterm labor at 22 weeks. Hospitalized at 22 weeks and again at 29 weeks. No more please!
IVF (BCPs starting 10/30/12, ER 11/18/12, 5dt of 1 beautiful, healthy embryo 11/23/12)
BFP 12/02/12, u/s @ 6w,5d showed 2 HBs! Identical twins!!
Bed rest from 21w-35w due to short cervix, hospital bed rest from 23w-32w due to PTL
Our rainbows were born 07/19/13 (36w, 5d)
We had an u/s this morning (though it sounds like we may have them every day...for sure every other) Yesterday we learned that it was Baby A's membrane that ruptured Friday night, but after the U/S today, MFM told us that all look like they're doing well. She did find Baby A's membrane, it's just saran wrapping (MFM's term!) her and she's got very little fluid.
Good news is that because she's not the only one in there, she's still able to move around, even if her membrane/fluid is low. So, they're biggest concern with her is lung development.
Biggest concern with me since a membrane broke will continue to be infection, but so far all is well!
DH has been truly amazing - he stays at the hospital all day/night long with me! And today my best friend is coming up - so definitely something to look forward to!
Happy Tuesday, all!

Hello all! Aiche I hope all goes well. I have my weekly OB/NST on Thursday. Starting next week, my perinatologist will do all monitoring. We are holding steady on this end. My only real complaint would be that I no longer know what sleep is. I am constantly tired. Other than that, the beans are extremely active, and gaining weight. Wishing everyone the best!
For those on HBR - I'm not sure if it would work for allergies but I had a cold while in the hospital and the nurses gave me saline drops - they worked great.
Dixon and Kayla thinking of you both. It sounds like you both have positive things things going for you - Dixon - with the other babies making room and Kayla - from my discussion with NICU Dr at hospital 32 weeks is a very significant milestone. Best of luck to you both.
MrsCaseyK A shower chair is a great idea! Where did you order yours from?
MyPlus5 I also like your outside idea
I hope to lay here uneventfully for the next 2 weeks until my next Dr appt.

Well got back from doctor they did a u/s and said the baby already weights 4 pounds 14 ounces , doctor asked how I was sleeping and I told not really that well because I have to pee every 5 minutes and that I have been having nightmares about the baby getting stuck.
I am measuring on the big side they say the baby's in the 90% percentile now I go in for weekly visits.
Just got back from my BPP, cord Doppler and NST and baby behaved great. Still at home and so grateful. Well wishes going out to all the hospital bedrest ladies, hope you're hanging in there. And GL to everyone with appointments today. And of course good thoughts to everyone else as well.
Aiche, saw your post on preschool board about potty training. Replied, but mostly just wanted you to know you are NOT alone. My DS is about the same age, and I've been batty with worrying and frustration that up until 2 weeks ago he had zero interest in the potty, and I think was legitimately terrified of it. I read what the other responder said and got upset. Although her concerns were valid, my son is not delayed, has no physical issues, and wasn't being defiant, he just really and truly wasn't ready. It's certainly worth asking the pediatrician, since there always could be something physical and if nothing else they may have good suggestions, but just wanted you to know you're not alone. Wishing you lots of luck and sending good potty vibes!
My daughter is actually considered special needs she is bipolar with sensory processing disorder and I took her to doctor about the potty issue the doctor says don't push it just keep offering and on day she will learn
Ugh, does anyone else LOVE it when an aquaintance sends you an article on how BR increases your chances of preterm labor....?? Ugh. It really got to me. It seems common sense that gravity and the fact that I get contractions every 3 minutes sometimes when I stand up is the enemy. Sorry to complain, it just really got under my skin that what I'm doing to save my babies is dangerous.

Ack! Totally agree! Someone just told me today that they read an article that bedrest doesn't help. Grrr. Umm, thanks for suggesting that the really hard thing I'm doing is useless! I just told them what my Dr said "there isn't any proof yet that it works, but in practice we are seeing that for many patients it does." Like you I know for me it works - when I am up and around I have contractions/progression. When I stay down, I'm stable. Don't ever doubt that what you are doing is what I best for your babies.

I agree ladies. I really don't understand those articles anyway, I know for sure that I went into preterm labor because of gravity. Anyone could see clearly on the ultrasound that when laying down, there was no pressure on my cervix. When I sat up or they pushed a little on my stomach, our baby girls head was pushing down hard on my cervix. Bed rest works in this situation for sure.
For any FTM's, you will learn articles and stories for how to raise your kids or handle difficult situations with your kids is sometimes a bunch of bad advice too. Just go with what you think is best for your kiddo's too!
