Weekly definitely isn't an option unless it's free.
Does your church do a mother's day out? Maybe you could start one, and the moms that are interested can take turns watching the kids for a few hours.
My friend and I have talked about this. Both of our churches are pretty small and do not have the money necessary to set it up. It would be nice.
I was thinking volunteer but use the church as a way to get the group together. If the churches can't open the nursery or don't have a nursery, you could go to each other's houses.
Wtf kid, eat. He had a half cup of fruit for breakfast and 1/4 banana for lunch. He is refusing EVERYTHING else. (Hell I even tried fruit snacks and he won't eat those either) I know he won't starve himself, but he's always been a big eater, eating anything I put in front of him.
Seriously DH, you get home at 6, the kids are in bed by 9 at the latest. You get 3 hrs with them on the weekdays, why the hell are you napping for 2hrs on the couch, and the hour left is dinner and homework for sD. Go to bed before 3am and you won't be so tired in the evenings. Time for a come to Jesus talk.
Kohl's in one of my favorite stores, but they're really on my shit list this year.
1. They have a crockpot that I can't find anywhere else. It's listed on their website but whenever I click on it I get the "Oops! This product is not available at this time" message. So I asked at the store and they said it's only sold in stores. I've called 3 of the closest stores for a week now and none of them have it, but they all say they're getting daily deliveries because of the holidays. Very soon I will be known as the Crazy Crockpot Lady of Northern NJ.
2. I ordered 29 items of clothing for DD (all on clearance) on Black Friday. Estimated delivery for all of them was December 3 - 5. Today is the 9th and I have received 2 items. Everything else still says Dec 3 - 5. I emailed customer service and they responded with a generic email about deliveries being delayed in my area because of snow. It snowed yesterday, the 8th. So, you're still late.
No spend Jan has become over spend Dec. James' play shoes are all looking pretty ragged so I had to buy him some new ones. James also had a growth spurt and all his pants are just about too short now. I hate middle of the season growth spurts. Grr.
My office in DFW didn't open until 10am today because of the ice. My boss sent me a message that said she was cancelling our Monday morning meeting to take advantage of the late start. Um, she works from home. We are supposed to get ice tonight. I wonder how she will feel about me taking an inclement weather day.
My house is a disaster right now and it's making me stabby, but not enough to do anything about it. I have felt beyond exhausted and nauseous this week so I have no interest in cleaning, dirty dishes would probably make me puke. Usually my H would step up and do it but he's had some pretty intense training and he's been having to get up at 3am so he's been going to bed at like 7pm. He will be done Thursday so I know after that the house will be fine again, but until then I hope no one decides to swing by!
Totally trivial, but DD broke the ornament I got for my buddy, I'm irrationally upset about it even though it is 100% my fault that she got to it.
Also super annoyed that MIL gave DD 2 out of 3 gifts I had for her for Christmas. We celebrated with them yesterday, and I had told her exactly what we were getting DD and gave her a list of 30 different things that were developmentally appropriate and she would enjoy.

I'm just sick of spending 2 1/2 hours (at a minimum) in the car everyday on my commute to and from work since it snowed last week. Blah. I think the worst part is that Lily is with me and she starts getting cranky after 30 minutes, so I have to say "Uh, we still have at least another 30 minutes to go."
That is why I have switched to working from home as much as possible. I thought I would go crazy. 2.5 hours on a good day, 3-3.5 on a bad day. I am so sorry, @mroxy0628! I will say it helped for CJ to put him in a daycare closer to home. He only has a 20 minute ride. Granted it added to my commute, but I was thankful for the peace for him.
Can you do a DVD player for her? CJ is getting one for Christmas due to car rides!
We're hoping to move closer to both of our jobs this spring, so hopefully this will be my last lengthy winter commute! That's one of the reasons she's in a daycare close to our jobs as it's been the plan to move. I'll have to look into the DVD player. She's not into TV, but enjoys playing on some apps on my phone, so I usually give her my phone when she starts getting antsy. Thank you for commiserating with me!
@stasi He did eventually call and apologize. And he promised him a Slurpee today. He sees the kids a lot, he picks them up from school almost every day and spends an hour or two with them. And they spend the night at his house every Monday night. It's just that he flakes on them a lot too. That is what really bothers me. I want him to be consistent. But I guess I should just be happy that he's involved at all.
Sorry about the delay, I got called into a meeting. Damn work. I'm trying to bump.

DD is a hysterical mess at the moment - only DH seems to be able to comfort her, so I'm taking advantage of it and hiding upstairs. She's teething and she has a rash, and daycare thinks I'm a neglectful parent because she still has the rash. I picked her up early today for EI, and didn't tell daycare that's why I was picking her up, because I don't want to discuss it with them. So instead we discussed her rash, and how much one of the teachers hopes her pregnant daughter doesn't cloth diaper, so I'm assuming she thinks that's why DD has a rash. DH let her run around naked on Sunday, and she had explosive diarrhea on the carpet at least three times.
I had planned to mail my secret santa ornament tomorrow, but now it's looking like we're getting snow. While I don't mind an extra day at home, I'm not looking forward to working with DD, and I'm irrationally peeved that I tried so hard to be on time for this, and I'm still going to end up late.
Reading these got me so angry!!! Grrrr! And @THT I commend you for holding your shit together during that dinner!!!
My main beef right now is with NordicTrack, who forgot to pack the instruction manual and 4 major screws in the box holding the rest of the treadmill parts (my husband's Christmas gift). Seems like a crucial part of the installation, don'tcha think? But I'll hold off from being supremely pissed until after I see how they handle it.
@origamipoppy I could take whatever she could dish, but the second she started making those comments to a child? I had plenty of those comments fly my way when I was a kid and it does nothing but tear you down. So sad! What an awful lady! =((
@jenndub Eeek, I was just talking to my sitter about her kids' dad flaking out It sounds like he does a pretty good job, but my heart broke at the thought of B getting stood up
@tinyhumantoe because of your picture on IG and you saying you "picked" out your tree, I then looked at your DH and thought of him picking his nose. Just FYI.
Sorry, didn't see this until today! It's the Crockpot brand 7 quart Programmable Cook and Carry. Now it's not showing up on their website at all. It's black, not stainless. They have the 6 quart stainless one everywhere, and that's what I'll end up buying if I can't find this one.
Just annoying me because I've been to 2 Kohl's (one by home and one by work) several times and it's always on the shelf, on sale, but none in stock.
Thanks ladies! We were expecting that the other cat would go first at some point, she is about 15. Boycat was only 8 and passed in his sleep sometime early yesterday morning. I saw them both in the living room yesterday morning and I thought they were sleeping together and that it was cute. That was not the case.
Super late to this, but I'm sorry about the loss of your cat. And I hope your LO is feeling even better today!

Well, that's great that he's there for them a lot of the time, but the flaking is crappy. Can can imagine that it's hard for kids to understand why a parent isn't 100% reliable all of the time, even though we are just human. Glad he's making it up
