OOH let me get this going! It is literally 1 degree where I live today. For the last week and a half my car has been slow to turn over and the "put air in tires" light has been on. H has said numerous times that he was going to replace my battery, put air in my tires, and take my car in to get the fluids flushed and replaced. Well - on Saturday H was supposed to get all this done, but he was a little out of it from his work Christmas party. Well today I take DD to school and when I come back out to head to work my car won't start. Luckily my Mom was able to come pick me up and take me home. However while I was waiting on her to get me my car started seizing! The lights were flashing, the things on my dash started shaking; all this was happening w/o my keys being in the ignition.
H got a lovely text that his super pregnant wife was sitting at daycare waiting for her mom b/c someone didn't get to doing car stuff this weekend. I'm now back at home wrapped in a blanket getting ready to start wfh.
My car is an 2005. I'd like my car to last another 3 years... fingers crossed!!
@ChuggingWater - same here! I hear that every day now. I also get: These last few weeks will just "fly by" because of the holidays.
We have no plans to go anywhere/do anything. We just want to spend our last Christmas without kids together doing freaking nothing, so there isn't a whole lot to get done. And these weeks are seriously dragging.
"Are you gonna make it?" Said to me daily in reference to my RCS date and the giant fetus I am gestating. Do I look like fucking Nostradamus? Do you see me holding a crystal ball? How the hell should I know if I am going to make it or not?
If I never have to clean water out of a basement again, I will die a happy lady.
In September, our water heater broke while we were at a wedding. We came home to a soaking wet dog (because she couldn't resist playing in the basement).
Last night, DH took a look at the washing machine. Figured out that the filter was clogged on it (thanks @xanadu94!). So he cleaned that out and wanted me to test a load. It was running much better, so I left it to do it's thing while I finished cooking dinner. A little while later, I went downstairs to switch the load to the dryer. Water everywhere! So instead of relaxing on Sunday night, we spent 45 minutes trying to get as much water down the drain as possible.
I'm so sick of me always being the parent that has to take the kids to doctor and dentist appointments, pick them up when they are sick or stay home with them when school is closed just because I work from home most of the time. It's like my job doesn't matter. Today, I have to pick up the kids at 3:15 to take them to the dentist, which I was fine with... until my son's school district decided to have a 2-hour delay due to the weather (which based on road conditions was so not necessary).
Last night when I told DH that I couldn't both start 2 hours late and leave 2 hours early, he offered to stay home in the morning and go in late so I could work. But in the morning he said that he couldn't and I would need to do both! WTF!?!?
Luckily my oldest will play by himself or watch TV, so I am able to get some work done this morning, but I'm so upset with DH because he always seems to do this. Says one thing at night to get me off his back then changes his mind in the morning.
My boss finally got some girl in to cover my mat leave. SHE'S USELESS.
I'm on the phone with clients and tour operators and this piece of work is actually talking to me, telling me what to tell MY OWN CLIENTS! WTF? STFU!
And she turned her back in the chair to one of our regular clients, so that our client would "read her" (my clients daughter is a psychic medium). How RUDE can you fucking be? Seriously?? The last thing I want to do is train this girl, because it's like pure baby sitting! She doesn't know our airline booking system. She's not even trying to play around on it in an attempt to learn it. I've told her how to research vacation packages on our system, and she just looks online and tried to book someone via another travel agent's website! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
LO, if you want to come early (like today) I won't mind. If it means I can get the hell away from this useless bag of bones next to me, I'm good with that!

January Siggy Challenge: When I am done breastfeeding...
I had a nasty stomach bug Saturday night and Sunday so I took today off to fully recover. We are staying with my parents right now while we do the addition to our house and my mom and sister (who has to drive back to GA today) woke up sick so I already feel bad for that. Plus my husband makes me feel guilty for taking DS to daycare today since I took the day off. (Luckily I feel better since I posted about this on FB) but it is my biggest bitch of the day so far.

I'm tired of my pelvis feeling like I've been kicked by a horse. And if one more person tells me "I should enjoy these last few weeks and get sleep" I might go postal. I CAN'T SLEEP. It just reminds me of how I'm going to start off this no sleeping newborn phase as a zombie. It would be so nice to sleep...
I couldn't fit my 34 week dr appt into thanksgiving week, so I had an appt for last Tuesday. I leave work early to make it there. After waiting for about 15 minutes the receptionist approaches me and says that their practice has just been bought by a larger company and they are not sure if they are taking my insurance any more or not. I can still do the appt but I may end up having to pay out of pocket. I ask when they will know? She says to call the billing dept on Friday.
I call on Friday and I am told that although they do not know for sure yet, they have been assured that they will continue to take my insurance. I have been trying to stay calm and not worry about the whole thing, esp since the company that bought the practice owns the hospital I delivered at last time, and that was covered.
But seriously GET YOUR STUFF TOGETHER!!! This is not something you should have a 36 week pregnant woman worrying about! The least you could have done was to tell me ahead of time so I didn't have to leave work early for no reason at all and waste my time. This has me doubting the competency of this practice, esp after the scheduling snafu at my last appt!!
I'm super annoyed with work and generally over it. My workload is always very 'feast or famine' and apparently they're thinking now is a great time to just pile it on and stress me out to the max. I get that everybody wants stuff done before the holidays so that they can be off and just enjoy... But really, I'm a cranky pregnant lady and not exactly operating at 100%... And guess what? Shockingly, I would also like to enjoy the Holidays! So suck it.

I'm starting to feel crappy and big and tired now and my patience is really running low.
I wanted the nursery to be finished last week so that the furniture could be moved in on Sunday, it is still not finished. I hate having to rely on people to get stuff done because it just doesn't get done or not fast enough. We had some surprise pop in visits from the ILs this weekend, which helped to slow progress and also helped to piss me off because I hate pop ins. I told DH that if anyone comes to the door unannounced after I have this baby, I'm not answering the damn door. At least have the courtesy to call and ask first.
I'm still also super pissed that BIL smashed a damn motor against my house and now it needs to be repaired. No calls have been made for estimates yet or anything. If they think that I am going to let this one slide, they are dead wrong. I've got crap all sticking out of my house now, and they ruined the eaves trough so I have water dripping (and freezing) all over my driveway - just what I need when I'm huge and pregnant and about to bring home a baby.
One last one, I'm annoyed with my boss not listening to me. I told her for weeks that I wanted more hours and she kept scheduling me my regular amount and "forgetting" to give me the extra. Now that I have gone to L&D with contractions, and I've been feeling crappier, I told her I don't want the super long Saturday shifts anymore because it is too much, and what does she do? Schedule me an even longer Saturday. WTF?
I am so tired of throwing up and feeling nauseous 24x7! This was supposed to end a long time ago!!

I told my sister last night that we think the reason that DS has suddenly become a picky eater is because he doesn't like sauce on his foods. For example, for dinner he wouldn't touch his chicken pot pie, but he would eat chicken, a biscuit, carrots, and peas. He just didn't want them all mixed together. Sister's response "Are you really surprised? This kid is so OCD!". She has said something like this many, many times and it annoys the crap out of me. Um, no, my kid does not have OCD. He's 2. He likes routine, he likes lining up his cars in a row, and apparently he doesn't like his foods to be combined. None of those things, alone or in combination, qualifies a 2 year old as having OCD. He also enjoys smearing yogurt on his face and dumping all his toys out at the same time. I'd say he's a pretty normal 2 year old.
MH hasn't called or skyped me in 2.5 weeks, and I'm starting to get seriously pissed. We FB message, but it's not the same. He's slacking, and I'm sick of his "I'm exhausted" excuses. Asshole, I'm exhausted, too.
This girl now asked if I had any pictures of my husband since she only noticed ones of DS around. Sure I'm pregnant, but how about this for pictures of XH. Type "ASSHOLE" into google and I'm sure you'll find lots of him!

I hate that the town where I live has such shitty doctors that I can't take my kids there. So, this morning, I spent the hour driving to the clinic, got there on time with icy roads and everything, just to sit and wait. The appoitnment was for 30 minutes after they opened, and the dr was still late!!! I quit doing the afternoon appointments, since you never knew if you'd be seen in 15 minutes or over an hour.
The really sucky thing is that yes, waiting for the doctor after driving an hour is better than the doctors here 5 minutes from the house.
I'm so annoyed that my stupid cell phone is at home, and I really don't want to drive home at lunch to go get it since I also need to get the Christmas cards in the mail. I also don't want to lose my parking spot because a third of our lot is still ice, and I refuse to park in one of those spots. I might just leave my phone at home all day; if DS' school or daycare need me, they've got my work number.
My coworker who seriously does nothing without being told is moving offices, so he won't be by me anymore. Part of me is irritated that he gets to move offices because that means he REALLY won't do anything, but part of me is glad he won't be by me anymore so he won't bug me with useless stuff but won't do work without being told to do it.
I'm trying really hard not to snap at H about his bad attitude, since he's in deployment training and all...but it's hard. He snapped at DS over FaceTime yesterday for something really stupid, and I almost lost my shit with him. It's frustrating to deal with a stubborn 5-year-old and a cranky husband. I'm also stressing about how in the world I'm supposed to handle a newborn and DS by myself, especially since DS has been waking up every night and isn't sleeping well. Sigh.
