Hi everyone! I found out over a week ago that I am pregnant with number two and I am so thrilled!!! However, it is frustrating because I can't tell anyone in my own family because I don't even know my due date. The doctor suggested I would need a dating ultrasound to figure out... I am curious how many of you needed this and how long did they make you wait to go get this ultrasound?
Just a little background information. My period tends to be every 38 days. I was so stressed because my mother had cancer and I was taking time off from work to care for her after surgery. I had my period September 3, 2013 and haven't had it since. I tested with frp test on day 46 with no period and it was a bfn. Things got so hectic with my mom's surgery preparations and coordinating things for work I didn't take a test until a few days before Thanksgiving and that was my bfp!!!
I can't wait for my dd to be a big sister and to bring a new baby into this world. Can't wait to start working on the nursery!!! Good luck to all of you who are pregnant and I hope you all have a happy, safe pregnancy!

Re: dating ultrasound
Congratulations and good luck to you as well!
I'd see if they could get you in for dating in the next week and a half so if you are the farthest along possible- you still have the option of first trimester scans. It's best to get a dating ultrasound done during the first trimester though- that's when they are the most accurate. Once you get into the second trimester baby begins to grow on it's own unique growth curve- but before then it's very very standardized.
I didn't need a dating ultrasound because I got here through IVF- but I wish you the best of luck
