Re: Tmi- first BM pp

  • Mine was 2 days after labor. It wasn't that scary. Of course I was by myself in the house w/ LO so I had to throw the Boppy on the floor of the bathroom (not as dirty as it sounds) and LO was hungry so I had to poop, feed LO and not die. So I guess the moral to this story is distraction (and stool softeners)

  • Day 3 was mine... The hospital pumped me so full of colace that it pretty much fell out lol. I was scared but the colace helped a ton.
  • I had a c-section, so I don't know if that makes a difference, but my first bm was about 2 days after DD was born. I had to take 2 "shots" a day of milk of magnesia until I had a bm. It was quite an experience, I felt a gurgle, hauled as much @$$ as I could to the bathroom and apologized to DH for what was about to happen. Remember that bathroom scene from "Dumb and Dumber?" That's what it was like...twice. Don't be afraid, just let it go!
  • I had to have one before I left the hospital, so they loaded me up with stool softener and laxatives. I had the first one 2 days pp.

  • I think I waited 4 days pp. I also had a horrible hemorrhoid and was terrified. My advice....stool softners. They help so much and it really wasn't as bad as I thought.
  • Update even with a stool softener 2x a day it took 6 days to be able to accomplish anything on the toilet. I took your advice and just went

  • 4 days, wasn't near as bad as I thought it would be.
  • Mine was about 2-3 days PP, can't remember which day exactly. I took colace in the hospital, did with other two deliveries as well. I didn't have any issues and wasn't anything to worry about for me.

  • Two days. I was afraid to push so I used a child sized suppository and it helped a lot. I took stool softeners and drank miralax for weeks because I was worried that pushing would hurt my stitches.
