Babysitting - what do you pay?

What are folks paying for babysitting these days?  We are hiring a babysitter so that we can go to my company holiday party for a few hours next week.  (We got lucky - one of DD's fabulous daycare teachers offered to babysit!).

I'm guessing it's about $15-20/hours these days?  She is a grown woman with lots of babysitting experience.

    Yup, our PT nanny is $16/hour for two, so definitely $16-17/hr would be true for us...

    It can vary depending on your area.  That would be insanely high around here.  We haven't hired a sitter yet but most people I know pay $8-10/hr, some more, some less.

    Around here 10- 12 an hour for one child would be reasonable

    My daycare provider charged us eight dollars an hour when we paid hourly and that was at her so I would probably pay ten at my own. Saint Paul, MN :-)

    We live in the midwest and have only had a babysitter twice so far. We pay $10 per hour.
