  • I just woke up to dd screaming in hunger from her crib, and I have no idea how long it had been going on because I forgot to turn up the volume on the monitor.....for the second time in her 10 weeks of outside life.

    I've done that twice too!

Due to the snow/ice we are having, I secretly hope my interviews either cancel today or don't show up. I'm not in the mood to work at work today.
  • I hate doing fundraiser shit for the kids schools..... Just the ones where they have to go door to door and sell stuff. They make the kids think they get an awesome prize when really it's cheap crap. Plus it's a pain in the ass to deliver the shit. We rarely do them.

I hate all the fundraiser crap that gets passed around my office. It makes me feel awkward if I don't buy anything, but most of the stuff is over priced and/or crap quality. I will probably decline selling when my son gets old enough. I will have him work around the house for money to buy something he actually wants.

I did win first prize in a fundraiser when I was in elementary school and I was so excited to get a bike. I might have used it four or five times. The picture was cooler than the actual bike.

  • I was a very committed workaholic before I had my son. I loved working and fixing issues (although it certainly wasn't always fun). Since I have been back at work I am not interested at all. I bring my laptop with me to pump, with all intentions to work, but I rarely do. I usually hang out on FB, read personal emails, or check out posts on TB. I don't like pumping, but I am going to miss using pumping as an excuse not to work.

This has been me too since DS1 was born 2.5 years ago. Now is even worse since DS2 is here.

I'm in the process of interviewing for a job I'm not sure I even want. It would be a lateral move for me and I'm just "eh" about it. I feel bad for taking a slot that someone else could've had since there are a TON of applicants, but I kind of want to see if I even get it offered to me after the face-to-face interview.

Same here.  I hate being at work.  I'm so unmotivated to do anything.  I was really REALLY hoping for a snow day today.  I really want to be a SAHM, and I really want to move to a different town, but this is the year I will receive tenure, so it's making decisions really hard.

  • I had an appt with my midwife (for my annual exam) and I asked if she could do a pregnancy test just because not having a period is weird. I would be lying if I said I wasn't just a tiny bit disappointed when she said I was not pregnant (even though it's really best if we wait a little longer AND it was highly unlikely anyway). Just for fun when I called DH after the appt and said, "Are you ready to do it all over again?" and he said, "You're pregnant!?" and I swear, there was a little excitement in his voice. Don't worry, I told him right away I was kidding.

  • I am so two-faced to my coworkers. Most of them I like, but a few I can't stand and I still act like we're great pals because I feel like I have to be a people-pleaser since I'm the therapist at our location. They all seem to expect me to always have my shit together and be pleasant and there are days I just want to scream GET OUT OF MY OFFICE! but I haven't brought myself to even so much as ask them to leave when they're bitching, yet.

I am still wearing maternity jeans and not in a hurry to stop - loving winter and layers.
I would love to keep wearing maternity jeans, but they are constantly sliding down because when I walk my chubby thighs rub together. So whenever I wear them I am always holding them up or pulling them.

  • I chose to watch the end of a new millionaire matchmaker episode, with my full attention, instead of properly burp LO. I could have done both at once-I just felt lazy.

I made up the dates to put on the milk I used for the first few days of daycare. I didn't label them before putting then in the fridge.
  • I haven't deep cleaned my house since I was pregnant. I wipe things down but no scrubbing like I used to. We're moving down two doors soon and I'm just putting it off until then.

  • My in-laws are annoying me about watching LO. They haven't come right out and said they want to, they just make snarky comments about, "WHEN I will leave him." And ever though I desperately want to have a date night with DH, I won't leave LO with them.

I've mentioned before that I don't like the way MIL "mothers" her other grandchildren. So when the time comes, I'll just pay a babysitter.

Yes, I'm willing to cut my nose off to spite my face.

  • I like watching strangers when I say "she" after they ask how old he is.  She is very rarely dressed in pink (and some days, I put her in blue) and she never has a giant flower strapped to her head.

The best time was when my 10 year old niece with a short, boy-like haircut was with us and an elderly man asked me about my boys.  I enjoyed his confusion and got a chuckle out of my niece loudly asking why he thought both of them were boys.

I deal with the opposite- a friend gave LO a pink wool hat (it's kind of mottled red, but it looks pink) and my son rocks it. Plenty of folks want to know "her" name or how old "she" is. Screw convention. It's a great hat and he looks adorable.
