teenmom-to-be

hi im konnor, im 15 years old and im expecting my first child, i never thought that i would be giving birth before i recieve my high school diploma, the thing is is that im really scared about what im going through, one day im thinking about how exciting it might be to be a mom but another day i just feel like ending it (which ik ill never do) to my baby, im only 6 weeks and 1 day, my dad is being very supportive to me, as well as my 3 big brothers and my boyfriend & my best friends. i got on here so i wouldnt feel alone, to talk to girls that are just like me, pregnant in high school is gonna be the worst experience ever but.. i have to pay the consiquences, i really think adoption would be the best but im to early in my pregnancy for that decision cause it might change..

If you are real: you may not find very many 15 year olds on this site to be honest. You are free to hang out (of course it's a public site). May I request some attention to your grammar & punctuation though?

The reason I request this is that your post here was very difficult to read. Since we are a written forum you want to make it easy for folks to converse with you, right? So please consider this.

As far as being pg goes: what are your plans for work? Insurance? Some things to think about.

    Good luck to you.

  • There are teen pregnancy and teen parenting boards at babygaga.com. You will probably have an easier time finding girls in the same situation than you will here. You are welcome to stay, but might not find what you are looking for.

  • Thank you so much! & congratulation on your second pregnancy!

Also a bit of a warning sometimes people can be harsh and snarky/bitchy on the boards here so don't take it personally. You gather a bunch of hormonal pregnant women together and you are bound to have attitudes.

I was just going to say the same thing :)

  • Thanks for the heads up haha!:) :)
  • No worries: @joules235. Just explaining why it bothers me.

@mrssparklebottom : I thought the same thing (suicidal reference) but then thought abortion would make more sense (interpretation wise-- I'm not suggesting it for her pregnancy). Her post was generally hard to make out.

OP: please talk to your guidance counselor at school, a government assistance counselor & start building your support network.

  • yes i was refurring to abortion but i am talking to a therapist weekly and over the phone session, i havent had an ultrasound yet.. but my doctor wants to make sure that my pregnancy test was accurate, i took the new test that tells you if your pregnant and how many weeks you are but it may be a false positive..
  • False positives are not very common. Either the hormone is present or it's not. There are some types of blue dye tests that are notorious for this but generally, a positive test means you are pregnant.

Good luck to you, however you decide to proceed.

  • That's the digital test which makes it highly impossible for a false positive.
But keep your head up. It's great you have such support and that you are talking to a therapist as I know this is a very difficult time for you.
Kudos to you for finding help and looking for options besides abortion.
    Good luck!
  • thank yall very much! this really means alot! :)
  • @JenBon727, Why did you flag my post?
  • @Kenloveskane4 my best friend was a teen mom and though she was older than you, was able to make it work with her support systems. There were also several pregnant girls in my high school.

My advice is dont be afraid to ask for help. It's going to be very hard, but stay in school. Talk to your guidance counselor about aid for daycare while your at school. Also have a parent call about health insurance benefits during your pregnancy and after baby is born if you decide to parent. These boards can be amazing and very supportive during this time. Good luck and I wish you all the best.

  • I don't know ladies... I think the thought behind the hormonal comment was to prepare a supposed 15 yr old that people will not always respond with flowers and rainbows for her.  In reality, hormones can affect how we act.  I think @joules235 was trying to minimize it and tell the girl to have "thick skin" by joking about hormones.  I don't think the intent was to set us back to the 20s, take away our rights, and go back to living only for our husbands LOL.

That being said OP- let this be a nice little lesson in case you have not come across it in your history class in middle school/ high school on women's rights as well as know you need to take what is said with a grain of salt from the pregnant and non-pregnant.

if this is even real that it!!!!!!!!

No, they can affect how we feel. How we act is our own responsibility.

@JenBon727 - You can undo that easily by going back and "loving" her post, that will remove the spam marker.  It's the first or second post on the thread if you aren't sure which one.

  • I'm technically a teen mom. I just had a baby girl in June and am 19. I'm done with highschool and in college so we have a little bit different circumstances but feel free to message me if you ever want to talk!
    BFP #1: due 6/17/2013, DD born 6/25/13
    BFP #2: due 6/30/2017, MMC found 12/7/2016
    BFP #3: due 10/21/2018
  • Welcome, girlie.  I always think if I would've gotten pregnant as a teen (didn't start having sex until I was 17, as I tried to hold off.. lol), I would've kept the baby.

You CAN make it as a teen mom.  You're just going to have some extra hurdles.  Supportive family is awesome.  Stay with them as long as you can.  Get a job when you can, save up money, be frugal, and kick ass.

If you decide to put the baby up, that's cool too.  You do what you feel is best!
