HI ladies!
I need some advise. My 20 month old all of a sudden is not wanting to take naps or sleep in his crib. He was always a good sleeper with great sleep habits. We always have the same routine: bath, story, song, prayers, i love yous and down to bed. He would go down awake and would cuddle up with his mickey and wave good bye and that was that. We would hear nothing from him until the morning. Nap time we would say time for night nights and he would walk himself to his crib put his hands up and down he would go. Well..... That has all changed! He will scream anytime we put him in his crib and he only wants to sleep if someone is holding him. (Which has never been the case). If I let him cry it out he will go for hours and hours crying. He stands in his crib until we come in. We have tried soothing him by rubbing his back, he's not sick, no rash etc... Any one else go through this or have advise?
Thanks
Re: Help! Sleep issue
I'm hoping it's a phase! He's gone through this before and he has always gone back to normal within a week or two.
18-20 months is a very typical age for a round of separation anxiety. If he is physically feeling fine that's what I would put my money on.
I can sympathize as well. DS will be 18 months next week and we are going through a similiar issue. For the last 4 nights he has awoken between 4am and 5am for the day. It's getting closer to 4am as the week goes on. The way he is acting makes me think it is a separation anxiety thing since he wants to be held, rocked, maybe a little sip or water or milk. I really hope it ends soon. Momma needs some sleep
