You should hit up the multiples board - average delivery for twins is 35 weeks. My dr wants me to get to 34, which means 98.9% survival rate. Not sure what that would be at 35 but probably even better!

Oh best of luck to you- I know you must be nervous! DS was born at 35w 5d and weighed 5lbs 8oz. He had a pretty traumatic first few minutes (stubborn guy didn't want to breathe) that caused the NICU team to rush in. We feared the worst when they ran in but around that time he decided to cooperate. No NICU time needed although they did keep him in the nursery a couple of hours helping him regulate his temperature.
Side note- they did expect me to have him early so we'd already done a round of steroid shots, that might have contributed to him not needing more help breathing.
I just gave birth to my little one on Saturday morning. He was 35 weeks to the day. He weighed 6lbs 3oz and was 18.5 inches long! He is also super healthy! Didn't need to be in the NICU at all and came home 2 days after birth just like a full term baby. He does has jaundice and has to be wrapped in a billi blanket but other than that he is perfect! The doctors couldn't believe he was only 35 weeks! Keep you head up and keep praying! It is possible to have a heathly happy baby at 35 weeks!
I don't have any experience with my own babies, since this is my first. But I was born at 36 wks (ish - my Mom has always just said 3.5 wks early), at 6 lbs 4 oz. I had colic and jaundice, but other than that I was just fine! To my knowledge, I had no NICU time and grew perfectly fine!
My great-grandpa used to get the biggest kick out of telling me that I was the ugliest baby he had ever seen. He said I was purple with a cone head. He said I looked like a lizard. Lol! Granted he also said that I grew up to be really cute in about 6 months.
So don't worry! I'm sure your LO will be perfectly fine, and hopefully cuter than I was!!! Stay calm as you can and relax!! Thoughts and prayers headed your way from FL!!!! <3
This is a late reply but I'm 32 weeks now and they said I should be safe if LO made his appearance today (I hope not). They're trying to get me to 34 which they say is the magic number so I'm sure you will be perfectly fine!

January Siggy Challenge: When I am done breastfeeding...
My first born was a 36 weeker and although he spent a week in nicu, it was due to low blood sugar and jaundice( nothing too major). The nicu experience is not something I want to do again but I will say our nicu was amazing and he had his own room of which I had my own bed in there too, so I never left him. All in all he is super healthy and in the 95 th percentile so you would never guess he was a preemie. I'm currently 33w4d and just hoping I get past 36 weeks but if I don't I know she will be in good hands!!! Hope this helps
My oldest son was born at 36w2d. Water broke out of nowhere. He weighed 6 lb 8 oz and came home with us..never had a NICU stay or jaundice or anything. Perfectly fine!!
I've had two 35 weekers and although every baby is different, 35 weeks is really the best "early" time to be born. Anything before 35 weeks and you really get into issues with breathing, keeping body temp up, being able to suck...
My first 35 weeker was 5lbs 15oz and had a few breathing issues during the first 45 minutes-ish but pulled herself out of them and was only in the NICU for her 6 hour mandatory observation. Never had any other issues with breathing, none with eating, none with jaundice.
My last 35 weeker came out literally face first and so her whole little face was bruised. She had no other issues but they kept her in the NICU because all of the bruising they said has nowhere to go so it will likely turn into jaundice, which it did. She was in the NICU for a week total but her only issue was the jaundice.
I feel like a huge jerk for missing this post yesterday
I don't have any experience, but I'm hoping your LO can stay put as long as possible. And if not, that he has only a short stay (if any at all) in the NICU. I'll be sending lots of thoughts and prayers to you and your LO!

No personal experience but my good friend had one born at 34w4d exactly and he was 4 lb 10 ozs. He may have been in the NICU for a few minutes but he went home on time and with no problems. He is 9 now.
Re: AW: Update 2 and positive 35 weeker stories to get me through?
A friend of mine gave birth to her son at 35 1/2wks in September. He was 5 1/2lbs, and only stayed one night in the NICU!

ETA: she was in the NICU for her weight and lung development for two weeks, but did great.
