After a long and incredibly difficult battle with infertility and loss, I am so excited to introduce myself over here. I'm pregnant with my adopted baby(ies) and I'm due Aug 6, 2014! For those of you who don't already know me from IF, IFV, or TPR, I'll explain. 
In a nutshell, DH and I have been TTC since 2011 and suffer from both female and male factor IF. After a failed IUI in 2011 and a cancelled IVF due to no ovarian response in 2012, we decided to pursue embryo adoption in early 2013. We adopted a batch of embryos from an amazing family in Virginia. these embryo had been frozen for over 10 years! I got pregnant with that first transfer, but sadly lost our baby at 9w1d after a long drawn-out beta hell. My betas were never good and never doubled. After that first loss, we adopted a second batch of embryos from a new family in California which had been frozen for over seven years! And we had our second FET that resulted in an early loss at 5w1d. This pregnancy never had beta levels above 17 and was also doomed from the start.
Our final "hail Mary" transfer occurred on November 19th. But the unique thing about this particular transfer is that we ended up transferring one embryo from each of the two families' batches. I got a BFP and my beta yesterday was stronger than it's ever been before so I'm actually hopeful this time! And as if all of that is not unusual enough in itself, there are a few surprises in store for us because of the nature of how this came to be.
If only one embryo implanted, we will not know what genetic family our baby came from until he/she is born and we do a DNA test. We will wonder the whole pregnancy! But if both implanted, I will have twins who are not genetically related to me OR each other. And they likely won't look a thing like one another since one comes from a family with very fair skin, blonde hair, and blue eyes - and the other is of Romanian descent with dark brown hair, olive skin, and brown eyes. Even though the road that took us here was a very difficult and painful one, the fact I am in this position now I find really cool. I wouldn't change a thing.
I'm praying with every ounce of my being I get to stick around here and finally hold one or two on my "snowflakes" in my arms. I have kept a blog about my unusual journey at Wishing on a Snowflake if anyone is curious. I've become an outspoken advocate for the widely unknown path of embryo adoption and try to get the word out about it whenever I can, so if you have any questions - don't hesitate to ask. I'm an open book and love to help others.

Appt with Urologist 5/21/12: exam, ultrasound, bloodwork all normal.
Testicular Biopsy with TESE on 6/8/12. good sperm found! (left side only) froze sperm, failed thaw test
Orientation for IVF/ICSI on 6/13/12. Waiting for the green light following biopsy results...results show adequate sperm production both sides.
2nd SA 6/18/12: sample is "adequate for ICSI"
Plan: IVF/ICSI July 2012!
ER: 7/26/12. 15 eggs retrieved, all mature.
TESE/TESA/aspiration from epididymis, no motile sperm found
froze all eggs, the saga of praying for good sperm continues.
8/3/12: 2nd opinion from MFI uro on biopsy slides. Suspects "partial late maturation arrest."
Plan: more SAs, third biopsy/TESE with frozen back-up either from DH or DS.

9/26/12: SPERM FOUND! 15 eggs thawed, 12 survived and were ICSI'd, only 3 fertilized normally. Refrozen as embies and will thaw in Nov. Please survive and grow!

August 16, 2013: BFP our first month of "not trying!" Still in shock. Beta #1 (14dpo): 183. Beta #2 (17dpo): 611. Ultrasound 8/30/13: baby measured 6 weeks, 1 day, heart rate of 118 bpm!

Me: MTHFR, Low AMH (1.1), High NK cells and Antiphospholipid Antibodies.
IVF with ICSI in August 2013 brought us our babies. ER-9R, 7M, 4F w/ICSI ET of 2-Grade 2 blasts.
Dx shortened cervix, PTL, and preeclampsia during pregnancy. Lots of medications and 13 weeks of bedrest, babies were born healthy at 34w4d!

| Married since 2008 | DH and I: Both 30 | Me: Endometriosis and Carrier of an X-Linked Dominant Genetic Disorder | DH: Low Morph | Planning IVF with PGD and PGS in 2013 | Freeze-All IVF #1: March 2013 ER 3/26. 29R, 12M, 11F. 4 5AA frozen blasts. Freeze-All IVF#2: May 2013 ER 5/15. 31R, 21M, 20F. 6 5AA frozen blasts. Our PGD probe was completed in late June (total of 20 weeks to develop). PGD and PGS Results came on 6/19: 3 healthy embryos (normal chromosomes and unaffected by my family's genetic disorder). FET #1: July 2013 Natural Cycle - Cancelled due to insufficient lining (only got to 7.5mm). FET #1.2: August 2013 - Medicated Cycle with Lupron & Estrogen Patches to build up lining. Single embryo transfer was 8/23. Beta #1: 240! Beta #2: 578! U/S on 9/19 at 6w4d: We saw the heart beating at 131bpm. Second U/S on 10/4 at 8w5d: We saw the heart beating at 178bpm. EDD 5/11/2014
Me (34)- no issues found MH (36)- MFI due to Vericocele. Straight to IVF w/ICSI 9/12, Antagonist. 9R, 7M, 5F = BFN c/p, New RE for IVF #2- 1/13., Long Lupron. ER on 1/22 -10R, 9M, 9F. Transfer on hold due to overstimming. FET in Feb. 2 frozen blasts. Another BFN & another c/p. RPL testing all negative besides MTHFR gene, vericocle repair surgery 4/12/13-Bilateral Grade 3 Vericocele found & fixed, IVF #3 with PGS 4/13- 11R, 9M, 9F. Transferred 2 normal=BFN, 3 normal on ice. CCRM-here we come! ODWU-All test results normal. EPP in August. 21R, 20M, 19F. 12 blasts biopsied & frozen for CCS testing. Results showed 11 normal! FET Oct. 30. 2 5d 4AA blasts transferred. First ever BFP!!! Beta 1=216, Beta 2=870 1st U/S=It's TWINS!!! It's a BOY and a GIRL!! Everyone Welcome!!!

IVF #1 April 2012 = BFN, IVF #2 June 2012 = BFP. U/S 7/23 = saw heartbeat but measuring behind. Follow up U/S on 7/30 - no heartbeat. D&C 8/2. Trisomy 12. IVF #3 Oct 2012 = Chemical Pregnancy
Phone consult with CCRM on 12/12/12 - ODWU 1/4/13 - both tubes clear(!) - AFC 24, AMH 3.2, FSH 9.6, LH 5.4, E2 25. DH has high frag rate but improved!
IVF #4 March 2013 CCRM. EP protocol w/ Menopur, Gonal-F & Dexamethasone. ER 3/29 & IMSI, PICSI. 43R 13M 10F 6blasts bio'd. CCS testing reveals 3 normals!!!
FET 5/31/13 of 1 4AA blast - thawed and expanded. 4dp5dt BFP.
Beta 9dp5dt = 181, 11dp5dt = 427. 1st u/s showed a healthy heartbeat! EDD 2/16/14
After 4 years of hoping and heartbreak, our sweet little bean was born on 2/19/14
