Dealing with sleep issues again?

Anybody else going through the same thing? The last 3 weeks havent been so nice. About half the nights LO will wake up crying. I think it is separation anxiety because she just wants to be with me and is happy as can be once I give her some snuggles. The biggest issue is that it happens after 7-8 hours after going to bed so she is tired but not that tired so it takes forever to get her to go back to sleep and by that time I have to end up feeding her because she is hungry even though I dont want to make it a habit. Anybody else going through this? Any advice from people who have been through this? Just wait it out?

  • Yes! We are going through this too! I was going to write a post today about this sleep regression kicking by butt! The last couple nights DD has woken up very early and taken over 2 hours to get back to sleep. And the one day she only slept for an hour after I got her back down before she was up for the day. I'm exhausted.

  • How long do you wait?

She has been crying more in her sleep but she stay asleep for the most part. But half the nights she will wake up screaming. I dont want to CIO at 4:00 or later in the morning because she had already slept by then a lot of time so I know she will be crying for a long time.

  • Us here too. This is the second round of teeth. Both times it goes like this... Baby finally down to one wakeup a night, mom starts to see a light at the end of the tunnel, then teeth and a cold hit... All hell breaks loose for about a week and then it takes weeks to get back to even two wakeups. Sigh...

  • Yep, same here. It's only happened a few times over the last week or so, and DD had a bad cold and stomach bug. I was blaming that.....but she's doing exactly what you all describe. Takes a good hour or two for her to fall back to sleep, and when she wakes up she's already been asleep for several hours. When she does this, I walk in and she's ready to party! All smiles and standing up. Usually if she wakes up at all, I can rub her back or rock her for a minute and she's right back to sleep.

  • Yep...it's been rough. The other night he ACTUALLY slept 9 hours straight...but was up at 4 for the day :/ I have no advice, I'm one of those people who co-sleeps in such situations, and even then he gets real fitful sometimes...Right now he is battling a cold though, I'll be thankful once that passes...
