We are celebrating the twins bday tonight at a local pizza joint. There are 6 of us. We invited my mom and dad, DHs parents and little brothers, my cousin & her daughter, and dh's grandfather and his wife. That is 16 people. His aunts just texted me that they, plus their spouses and children would be attending. That is 7 additional people!!
A) I didn't invite you because I don't like you

Who DOES that? Did they find out from your ILs? I'd be having a conversation with them about not implying to anyone that they are included. Jesus, people have balls.

Nothing. Replying would have just thrown fuel on an already smoldering fire. There is no love lost between DHs family and I. They will do as they please, invite or not.

Are you sure they expected you to pay? When we do big family meals out we split the bill among the families. We're also 'the more the merrier' people though, and all get on. Do they know you don't like them? Is it something irrevocable?

Yes. They are well aware that I dislike them. They dislike me as well. It's no secret. I don't know if they expect me to pay or not. In our family, it is customary for the inviter to pay.

Ugh. In laws.. I don't have them but I once did and they were always a PITA. Try and enjoy your babies birthday dinner regardless. They are adorable and you are a rock star for making it through the first year! Your in laws can go pound sand...

@loveactually4 it went well actually. They weren't even able to be seated with the rest of the group. The girls ate Florentine style pizza, opened (sort of) their presents, and went nuts over their cupcakes. I just finished putting stuff away, and have all of their new clothes in the washer.
