Teary eye

For the past 2 days LO has been super fussy. I just chalked it up to teething, but now I am noticing that one eye is extremely teary. I have been cleaning out eye boogers frequently, too. Our pedi closes early on Fridays, so I can't get an appt. Any ideas or experiences?

Isaac constantly has this. He's had a blocked duct since birth. But it could be indicator of ear infections. I took him to the doc on Monday just to rule out ear infection. Good luck.

LO had a pussy eye once when she was maybe a month old. I took a warm clean washcloth and kept around the eye clean, wiping inside to outside, not using the same part of the washcloth twice. Was going to take her to doc following day if it didn't get better, but that did it for her and the next day it was clear

Zack has also had a clogged duct since birth and is constantly getting a teary eye and goop in it, especially after sleeping. If this is what it is, just massage it and wipe with warm wash cloth. If the eye itself or the area around it looks red or pink though, it could be pink eye or some other infection.

My LO has had a blocked duct since he was born. He just had his 4 month checkup a few minutes ago and our pedi referred us to an eye doctor because it hasn't gotten any better. Just try to keep it clean and see if it gets better and if not I'd take her in to the pedi. Haddock isn't ever fussy because of his eye so it could be something else with her. Hope she's ok

Clogged duct. Wipe her eye with a warm damp wash cloth. Also massage the area between her eye and bridge of her nose gently. This happened to DS a few weeks ago and I thought it was pink eye. It cleared up after I did the wiping and massaging.

Thanks! I did what everyone suggested and she seems to be getting better. Still fussy, so I do think that part is teething related.

I'm glad she's feeling better. Keep an eye on her. If she spikes a temp, gets fussier, wants to eat constantly, starts tugging on her ears, or her eye gets more irritated, bring her into urgent care.
