Dealing with the itchy belly?

My stomach itches like crazy. I have been wearing the full panel pants and i'm not sure if that's making things worse. To top it off, now I have a rash all across my stomach. Is anyone else having this issue? What are you doing to get rid of it? I've tried a variety of creams, but nothing seems to help.

Re: Dealing with the itchy belly?

  • Have you tried Aveeno cream? I can't remember what the exact name of it is, but I got this thick Aveeno moisturizer and it really helps with itches.

  • Well, out of desperation one night...I put some biosilk on it. I use it for my hair (and it says you can use it on skin too) but its so greasy and oily I thought it would help. Guess what? It did! lol. I was so happy. I've only had to do it a couple of times, but the oil really seems to help my stretching skin to stop itching.
  • I have the most painful itchiness across the top of my belly under my bbs. I have no rash and I put cream on at least twice a day, but no help. I originally thought that my full panel pants were irritating my belly, but now I am just convinced it is pain from skin streching.
  • Biosilk shine therapy? I've never heard of putting it on skin, but I am up for trying anything. I have some in the bathroom, I will have to go see how it works!
  • If you have a rash, my doctor ok'ed benedryl lotion.  It will help with the itchiness.

Yeah, that stuff. Ya know, after you straighten your hair, you put some in... I wasnt aware you could use it on skin either, but I read the bottle and on the back it says you can use it in hair, and on skin. It works for me, so its worth a shot.

  • Burts Bees Mama Butter....love it ( you should be able to get it at target) oh and Biosilk does work too :)
  • I use the Curel lifestages pregancy and motherhood creme. I love it, but I'm only having a little itchiness. Good luck!
  • I've been using Tummy Honey Butter by Bella B.  It has beeswax in it and provides a good coating on the belly.  Keeps it itch free.  And it's paraben free (been linked to cancer and in most lotions, so check your ingredients before rubbing all over your belly!)
  • I've been using the palmers cocoa butter but not much luck with that. I love all the suggestions, if the snow lets up I may be heading to the store.
  • Thanks for all of the suggestions ladies. I'm sure that I will be trying many of the items reccomended!
