Nothing to do with babies, kids or pregnancies for once! Haha
I was just watching the "sex in the city" movie and was thinking about how both proposals were a little weak for my taste (Regardless of the happy ending). But different people like different ways of proposing. So, question is, how did your proposal happen?
My DW took me to long wood gardens, which is a huge extravagant garden in Pennsylvania, during Christmas time. So there were glittering Christmas lights everywhere and soft classic Christmas music playing in the backround. There's a musical fountain show in the garden that jumps and lights up each time there is a musical note. Its not a sit down show but instead a passing by Show. so people were gathered up by the fountain gate watching. DW and I were watching the show snuggled up (because it was FREEZING!) and just as the last song came on, she pulled me closer to the front to "get a better look". People were getting mad because we were getting in front of them. But then she started her little speech and I'm unaware of whats about to happen and worried about what people are thinking haha. Then she gets on her knee and I about crapped. By then everybody is in awe or running off because they don't agree with our lifestyle and are shielding their kids eyes haha. But what I thought was the best was when I said yes and the fountains light up to the highest point. Was almost like a movie and I'll never ever forget it!

What are your stories ladies? Or if you're not engaged/married yet, what's your dream engagement?

He loves to tell people that story.
After that though, he said some incredibly sweet things and I boo-hoo'd all over myself.

Bahahaha! If I had the energy to laugh while rolling on the floor, I would. That's adorable!
As for the gondola ride lol well, nvm to that! I'm crushed
We were eating dinner and DH looks at me and goes "we should get married or something." I was like yeah sure someday why not. He was all "naw we should do it now. Go hit Vegas or something." And I was like cool.
I know I know. Heartwarming. Hahahaha.
Lol I can't think of anything acceptably sarcastic enough to say to that. But I did get a good chuckle in!
For the engagement, I had been on a business trip to Germany for a couple weeks and I had the UPS thing that informs you when things get delivered (via email), so I knew the day that my ring got dropped off at our apartment and was still stuck in Germany for another 5 days. Every day I called him to ask how he was going to do it... we use car service to get to/from the airport, so when I got home, we were talking in the car and he kind of knew how far away I was (but not really). Anyway, we got to the house before he got back from picking up my fave food (Hana Sushi), and I ended up sitting on our back deck in the cold (since he was supposed to be home so I didn't take my keys) for like, half an hour. I was sooo pissed and tried to call him like a million times. Meanwhile he came home and entered through the garage so I never saw him.
When he (finally) rescued me from the deck, I walked in to the candles and the flowers and the sushi all on the table and while we were eating, he asked me (on one knee of course). In the end of all the calls about how to propose, I told him I wouldn't turn down a Tiffany ring no matter how he asked (and boy was he nervous about all of it).
Alaska!
I later found out he had planned to propose on the Fourth of July. He was going to take me to a local town with an awesome fireworks display and while the fireworks were going off propose.
I joke that he owes me a proper proposal if we ever hit the lottery.
My DW had mine custom made. She says she got it made to look like a flower with a simple pink diamond in the middle with a rose gold band because my favorite flowers are pink roses haha and I love gold. It's so unique. Couldn't afford a wedding band after that
I was sitting on a chair in front of the tree with one of their dogs. All of a sudden DH goes "well I can't stand it anymore" (he's an awful secret keeper, he had the ring all of 24hrs) and I assumed he meant he wanted to open the champagne haha. Next thing I know he is kneeled in front of me and he said "will you marry me?". I immediately started crying and said "you're a fucking jerk". Everyone apparently laughed ha. Then we popped the champagne and celebrated!
We were out at the cabin (owned by friends of my parents that I have been going to since I was just a baby) and decided to go for a long swim to the end of the bay. When we got to the turn around point we were hanging out on pool noodles talking and kissing.
At that point I had no idea that he had the ring in the pocket of his trunks (tied in with dental floss to be safe), so I jokingly asked him to marry me. He said "no, you marry me", to which I replied "I asked you first", then he pulled out the ring and said "but I have one of these, will you marry me?". I said "yes" and started to cry.
And happy thanksgiving ladies!
Is this your first child?
