Check ins?

So I know I just started posting again, and I'm sure we could all use some refreshers.

How about a march mama/baby check in? How's everyone's LO doing? What kind of shenanigans are they getting into these days? Any takers?

DD is doing really well, getting bigger and bigger! She weighs 22lbs (not sure on hieght) and growing out of her 12month clothes. She has an 18 month old cousin that gives her a lot of her hand-me -downs and I'm worried that she will soon pass her up! As far as what she is up to...lots of crawling everywhere! Watch out world, here she comes!!! Now everything is at her reach, and she wants to explore everything. It can be exhausting at times because there is less time for me to sit and relax, but I really enjoy watching her play and try to figure things out. I'm also really enjoying her calling me Mama! Finally. Took her forever to say it! Best sound ever! :x

I forgot to mention food. That is a HUGE part of her life right now. She is obsessed with food! Has to try everything and is no longer interested in her "baby" food. She wants whatever we are eating and will cry until she gets a taste. I know make her a modified version of our meals (without salt, etc) and she loves it! She eats everything we give her.

How's everyone's LO doing? What kind of shenanigans are they getting into these days?

Ds was born 3/8/13 and is relatively healthy.  Other than the FTT that is -- he weighed in at almost 13lbs11oz this morning on my rented baby scale.  He wears 12mo onesies and 6mo pants.  He has a long torso and short arms and legs.

Ds is behind on milestones so I'm still enjoying a baby that stays where I put him. He rolls over front to back and back to front but will not roll places.  He has figured out how to blow raspberries and fortunately he only does them with his mouth empty.  I am still waiting to find out who gets the first puree shower when he decides to blow the raspberry with his mouth full.

He also makes the funniest face: he sticks both of his index fingers into his mouth by the cheeks and sticks his tongue out in the middle. He did that right before he got his last heel poke for a blood draw at one of his recent appointments.

He also likes to rub his open mouth on my cheek like he's trying to give me a kiss but doesn't quite know how.

I love those kisses! Dd gives nice wet wide open mouth kisses lol

Just wandered back to the forum myself. DS will be 8 months old next week and he is EVERYWHERE. He doesn't crawl, but only because the scooting/army crawling is faster for him. He is capable of crawling though and will do so for short (as in 2-3 "steps") distances. He is pulling up on EVERYTHING and nothing is safe anymore. Just the other day, he figured out the stairs.

He is the world's biggest flirt. He's not shy, but he recently learned if he ducks his head before grinning at a stranger he gets even MORE attention, so he does it on purpose. He growls more than he talks. He'll sit in my lap and just growl as loud as he can. If he's not growling, he's screaming because he thinks that's awesome too. He also loves to place the back of his hand over his mouth and open/close his hand while talking to make a "abababababa" type sound. He just loves making noise and is super social. He's got separation anxiety, but it only manifests when he's tired, because the rest of the time he's too focused on charming everyone around him.

Lately he's been raising both his hands over his head, so we started copying him and saying "yay" every time we saw him do it. Once he realized he "controlled" us, he would do it on purpose and looked SO proud of himself when his sister and I reacted. It was probably the coolest moment of his young life.

I must stop myself from rambling. I'm just so in love with my little man! We all are.

DS is a foodie too. He's begun getting upset when he realizes he's not eating what we are. And recently he's been upset that everyone has a cup but him, so now he gets a cup with meals too.

@pipsqueak I am glad your LO is doing well! I read your original post about FTT-how scary!

DD is doing amazing-I'm like PP, I love everything she does! She's around 20.5-21 lbs, not sure height (9 month appt is 12/11).  She actually still fits in 6-9 month clothes...the doctor said she's "deceptively heavy" and doesn't look nearly as much as she weighs.

she's been crawling for a couple months now, and is so much fun with it. She's been pulling up for about a month, and has been trying lately her hand at standing unassisted-she does pretty well!  No cruising yet but I figure once she figures it out there will be no stopping her so i'm not pushing for it LOL.  She's pretty content to just crawl around and pull up, so I just keep her in the room with me and redirect her as needed-she prefers it to being held/cuddled (as long as she's not hungry/sleepy).  We play "hide and seek", and "follow the leader" and "roll the ball".  She can crawl the stairs in 30 seconds (I timed her while I was behind her one time) so she's not allowed anywhere near there

She started babbling a month ago  and is a blabbermouth now.  If I sing she'll "sing" with me and move her hands, but still isn't quite sure about the waving and hand signals. No words with any meanings yet, though she KNOWS who mom, dad and the dog are.  I don't expect she'l be an early talker.  We are doing some form of BLW, and she eats whatever i'm eating, which is easier but also kind of a pain when I just want a bar or a protein shake without little mouths opening up like they expect some. She'll drink out of my water bottle too!   I think today she polished off 2 egg yolks and some mango after her bottle..geesh. OH-and we have 8 teeth. 6 of which decided to come in a month span. REAL FUN

She's funny and is a big smiler and super happy/content. I have a feeling she's just going to be like me and SUPER independent...i went into her room the other day to find her doing this...

Hey ladies, glad we are bringing this board back to life! DS was born march 6th. He is absolutely adorable...crawling and pulling up. Cruising on sofas a tiny bit. He says dada and baba and a gaga...but nothing specific. He likes to eat most days, we are doing BLW too. He is the light of my life, seeing his face brings me joy.

So DD was born March 14. She seems to be on track with all her milestones except she is a little early with gross motor. She has 3 bottom teeth and we are doing BLW. She eats a lot!

She just started "clapping" today! She doesn't make a noise but she does the motion. There is always something new!

She was born with a full head of hair but it was thin and short. It is starting to fill out.

She is getting faster at cruising and walking while holding our hands.

She will babble and I will mimick her. I can tell that she tries to think up different sounds to give me but they are all just variations of "b" sounds LOL. She makes other sounds but most of her babbling revolves around "b" and when we play that game that is all she can think of to stump with

I just realized I started this post and didn't say anything about my dd!

She is seriously the funniest person I know! She is such a happy baby it amazes me but she def has some attitude. That she is in no way afraid to show haha. Interestingly enough, everything I've read says that babies raised in a bilingual household (my husband speaks Spanish to her) tend to be delayed speech wise and Cami seems to be just the opposite! She babbles a TON but I am convinced she has been saying mama and dada with purpose for at least a month now. She def has the gift of gab :)

I am a tad obsessed with me kid, too. I hate to say it but I'm turning a little into that mom that is just all about her kid. But it's so hard not to be!

My dd was a march 1st baby. She is so funny. Everyone always says how expressive she is compared to other babies. She is hilarious. She is starting to wave. She is a pro at giving high 5s.
She loves reading. Super fast crawling. Pulling to stand.

She is also FTT. She was born small- perfect and 5lbs 15oz. She was always at 5% and fine. Now she has only gained 1/2lb in almost 3 months. She has had a lot of tests. Some specialists think she is just tiny and Perfect. Some still suspect something is up because she eats way more than she needs but won't gain. She also has milk and soy allergies.

Other than that, she is absolutely perfect and gorgeous. We are completely in love with her

DS (March 4th) is a riot. I mean, full on. Like me- he is hardly ever quiet. He loves to growl, make high pitched screams, or babble CONSTANTLY. He's happy, sociable, easy and fun!
He's a big boy- over 25 lbs and over 30 inches (9mo is Dec 6th). DH's favorite phrase is "Scholarship?!?" He's been in 12mo clothes for a while- might have to move up soon! He JUST started crawling- maybe within the past week. I knew he'd do it when he was ready. No pulling up yet, though. He also just cut his top left tooth two days ago. He got his bottom two at 3 months!
No words yet, but he knows quite a few signs and names of things. For as active as he is, it's fun to catch him "studying" things and people. I think he'll be good at figuring things out eventually (maybe bad news for me)!!!
As a FTM/SAHM, I'm so blessed and thankful to get to experience DS every day- I love every second of it!!

DD is doing great she was born March 19th. She loves every single kind of food we give her.  She has learned to pull herself up (which scares me).  She is starting to crawl better.  At first she would only use one arm which made her drag herself but she is getting the hang of it.  She says Dada and Baba all the time.  She did say Mama once but that was it grrr.  She loves to clap hands and dance and is trying to use 2 fingers to pick things up.  She has 3 teeth and that last one made a mess out of my poor girl while it came in.  She has quite a personality.  She is very happy but boy does she let you know when she is not!  She has a "stink" face and crocodile tears.  It is kinda funny but I don't let her know that.

It is amazing how far all of our LO's have come in.  I can't believe this time last year we were all about 5mo pregnant and now look at our babies!

My DS, born March 12, is so unbelievable active.  Just yesterday we went to the ped's office and he ripped up all of the paper on the table and then found the roll and unraveled it.  I felt so bad leaving the room in such a disaster.  I tried to clean what I could, but I am just hopeful other babies have done that too.  Even the ped kept saying over and over how active and strong he was.  LOL!  He weighs 17lbs and is long - maybe around 29-30".

His latest thing that makes me laugh is how he likes to stand on his changing table.  I used to fit it, but just gave up.  I am learning to put a diaper on a standing baby now.

Every day is an adventure with him.  I am really glad that I decided to become a SAHM.  I never thought I would have made that choice with how important my career was, but I wouldn't trade in any days with my DS for a second.  Some days might seem lonely (esp. b/c DH travels a lot), but thanks goodness for other mommy friends I've made out there and this lovely message board!

Forgot to mention that DS just started saying mamamamamama, but only when he is crying.  I love watching him trying to say certain things now.  We are a long ways off, but it is great to see how hard he tries.

DD was born March 26th (10 days late) and is just the light in my life. Did anyone else think they could love this much?

DH and I just took our first long weekend without LO. Didn't realize until we were lounging in our hotel room how much we really needed it. We did really good not calling grandma every hour to see how LO was doing. Did notice how awkward life was without her...you just get so used to eating faster, entertaining the baby instead of adult conversations, waking up at 5:30a, etc, etc.

Anyways, DD is really coming into her own! She will laugh along with you and when asked, "how big is Bradlee?" she will put her arms over her head "sooo big!" Love watching her concentration as she figures out toys and the remote! Now I have 2 people I fight for the remote with!! (little trick: find your show then take a battery out of the remote before giving to LO - now they can play but not change your channel)

REALLY close to saying "cat." Pretty sure this will be her first recognizable word. She's been saying MaMa for awhile, but not necessarily in reference to me. If you ask her where's mama, she'll look for me which is heart melting. LOVE having her say "mama" which she does, then have her say "dada" and she makes a gurggly-hiss noise. Cracks me up!

Still working on the movement. I know we probably slacked on the tummy time, so trying to make up for lost time. Think she may skip the crawling for walking. She likes to stand holding onto the couch. When something is out of reach, she'll look down at her feet as if she's willing them to move. You will then see her little toes move and a small shuffle of her foot.

Ugh, so in love and loving every minute!!! I'm totally addicted to loving Bradlee Paige!!!

Weston was born 3/23 and he's army crawling over the place!  He hasn't pulled up yet but he's thinking about it, lol.  He's been rocking on his knees lately and I can tell he's slowly figuring out how to crawl the normal way.  He's very interested in his toys and details and tags and zippers.  He's down to 2 long naps a day and he's been doing a bit better at night, lately just 1 wake-up and he goes down after a quick snack.  He was slow to sit unassisted, he just started to be able to do that for a longer period of time this week.  And his baby babble is pretty much: da da dahhh and ba ba bahhhhhhh

Been off the board a while also. DD born March 9th she is about 17ish lbs. she crawls and pulls up on everythingggg. And talks/babbles quite a bit. She will clap, wave and high five. She laughs and smiles at everything.

She has recently started refusing puréed food, she will eat some table food and loves the Gerber puff and crunchies.

She fits in 9 month clothes and can even wear some 12 month! Growing way too fast!

Love to read about all your lo's and their progress!

My DS was born 5 weeks early on March 10th (what a surprise that was when my water broke!) We were a bit worried about his weight, but he quickly made up for lost time and is currently a very healthy 20 pound bundle of love.

He is so close to crawling! He'll rock on hands and knees but seems uncertain what's supposed to happen next and ends up in his belly. And will then roll around like a crazy baby. He pulls up though and we wonder if he'll skip crawling and just walk instead. He claps very enthusiastically, but doesn't yet wave. He says dada and mama, but not in reference to us yet. He definitely recognizes some words like daddy, mommy, teddy, up, puffs (ha!), car, puppy, peekaboo.

He's a very happy baby and nearly everything will make him giggle (example: I was making my sock say achoo and he was laughing his head off). He's curious, loves to explore and will study new things very closely. He loooves the bath and interacting with his toys in the tub. He still wakes up about twice a night to eat, but I don't mind--I realize how quickly my baby is growing and I cherish the middle of the night snuggles.

He's not super into purees, but loves food! Yogurt, puffs, baby crackers, bananas....whatever we're eating! He's pretty enthusiastic, but is still mainly bf'ing.

I'm also a FTM and currently a SAHM and it has been one hell of a ride so far! He cracks me up every single day and is such a ray on sunshine:)
