Who has names picked out?

Re: Who has names picked out?

  • We have two names for each sex, can't wait to find out the sex to finally name our baby!

    Boy: Drexel Owen, Oliver Emerson
    Girl: Evelyn Weatherly, Eloise Jane

  • DH doesn't want to entertain any discussion until Dec 20th when we find out what we are having. There is a boy name left over from DD that is still in the running I'm sure, and I have a couple girl options. I would bet the only few seconds he thought about it was the one time I asked and he replied "no point talking names until the ultrasound." Okay then!

We're pretty settled on our girl name options: Henrietta Josephine or Adeline Rebecca

Boy names have proven more difficult. Right now front runners are Phineas Alexander or Finley Alexander

I've really enjoyed the name picking process with DH bc it's one of the only things he really gets into. And it seems we have pretty similar tastes, which is also nice. :)

@copperpoppy I love your name picks! Josephine for obvious reasons. Elizabeth also for obvious reasons. Harrison bc my brother's name is Garrison. And David bc that's my dad's first name and my other brother's middle name. Good choices! :)  I wanted to use Josephine as a fn, but our last name starts with "Jo" and DH wasn't crazy about the alliteration.

@chillypenguin When reading the name Madelyn, others will know how to pronounce it...but when telling someone that her name is "Madelyn" your daughter will have to spell it out every single time. I'm not saying one is better than the other, but it's just something to consider. I have the most common spelling of my name and it's nice that I can assume people will spell it correctly.

I love your names by the way! Madeline and Benjamin are both favorites of mine.
  • The only girl name we both agree on so far is Juliet. Boy names is a big list still.

Come from family names for us as well. So interesting that they are all fam names for you too. My brother and dads MN is Joseph and DH just liked Josephine. My gggrandmother was also josefa. His grandmother was Elizabeth and it think it's just classic and beautiful.

His grandfather and uncle are named Harold and while I'm not a big fan of Harry, Harrison means Harry's son and that's special. His grandfather was pretty cool but passed away about 6 years ago. David is for his father who passed away 6 weeks before our wedding suddenly. I'm due on the 2 year anniversary of his passing. I just have a feeling it's a boy because of that.

Btw, Alexandra Katherine is another girl option. We have very similar name tastes.

  • @Christinaruth74  Yay for the name Adelynn/Adeline! I think you're the first I've seen to mention it around these parts. :)
  • @Copperpoppy  Wow, what a special meaning behind those names! That is so so sad about your H's father passing away just before your wedding. And how incredible that you're due on the same day two years later. I'm hoping that you're having a boy now!

Josephine isn't a family name for us (as far as I know). I just really like it. DH's name is Alexander. And guess what...I was almost a Katherine! Crazy!
  • @ABColeslaw  I think Lola is an awesome name! And from what I know of you from this board, I think it would be a perfect name for your daughter. Just like the other girl you were describing, I can imagine her free spirit full of spunk and determination! :)

@CamrynnsMommy Dorthy isn't such a bad name if you maybe use Dorthea instead. That is one of our girl names, Dorthea Mae and probably call her Dolly. It incorporates everyone of our grandmothers names. Our other girl name is Noa. I love the name Noa for a girl! I actually think my love for the name Noa will trump the grandmas! We have pretty much no boy names at this point. Maybe Leo.

We just found out this week that we are having a boy.. His name is Soren. :) I could not come up with girls names for the life of me so I was relieved to find out it was a boy as we had already had our boy name picked. Good luck! :)
