I actually HOPE it's an ear infection :( updated AGAIN

We're on day three of a fever that wasn't an ear infection when he was at the doctor on Monday.  Last night he kept waking up screaming his head off so he's going back this morning and I really hope they find an ear infection.  It's so much easier when you know what you're up against and can treat it.  "Random virus that needs to run its course" is a phrase that can DIAF.  Pass the coffee :) UPDATE No ear infection so now we are getting a chest X-ray

Thanks all!  The good and bad news both is that there's nothing "wrong."  No pneumonia but still no answers beyond "a virus."  We just need to keep him comfortable with meds and as hydrated as possible and bring him to the ER if the fever won't respond to meds or he refuses to drink.  If he's still sick on Friday they want to see him again.  Poor buddy :(
